If I lived closer, I would happily pop up and keep an eye on the boys, pat the dog and cats, feed the chooks, chuck another log on the fire and pop a hot pot in the oven for later. All free of charge...(a warm house with dinner cooked and a bottle of wine on the table when you get home). Then I would disappear of course! :biggrin2:

We're at 700 ft level, a lot less than Wendy. 2 to 3 inches of snow and crunchy icy underneath. No sign of thawing yet. Not on a main road just the Barrowford rat run so gritting may be a little behind the rest of them. Take care when you do go out.

Sat outside the hospital now, where there is no snow apart from the 6inches still on my car! Got out no problem, but then Col did decide that he could drive!

Home again! Blood tests done and PICC line flushed ready for tomorrow, only problem being that his line is coming out and has only half an inch to go before it will need redoing. He has been using his arm too much...

Glad you made it Wendy. We are 650 feet, normally the snow line but there is nothing in N Manchester, plenty in the South. It seems to have swept up the M6 and the southern side of the M60. We have nothing forecast until New Years Eve. Its bitterly cold, -1 C . We are going for a walk ,well wrapped up.

Nice bit of sunshine and made the mistake of clearing the snow from the drive. 40 yards long and a bit on the steep side. Nearly put my lights out. I was intending to go out tomorrow but if it snows again tonight the bloody stuff can stop there and I shall stop in until it thaws. That'll teach it. :biggrin2:

Did you have to clear the entire drive?

See...as a woman...I would just clear two tracks...for the wheels :laugh5: Exactly. and being a smart a.se I started at the top for both tracks pushing the snow downhill. Stopped to admire the view 15 times then got pelted by some kids who used the piles of snow as an ammunition supply. :laugh5:

I must be very lucky, I haven't seen any of this snow yet.
Day off from shed was perhaps a good thing. Certainly feel good and up for it this morning!
So shed, exercise and reading. Co-op shopping crops up tomorrow.

Morning

We have a sprinkling of snow this morning, as my grandma would say “nothing to write home about!”. It certainly held off yesterday and we got out for a nice long brisk walk. The paths on the moors were largely flooded and we had to keep going up on to the sheep trails to get past.
83971AFB-AF99-4FA3-8FC7-7C10A024F4F2.jpeg
in places it looked more like a river.

We had a productive morning, reassembling the desks and filing cabinet in the study so we had space to empty the wardrobe and it could be pulled out. We, thats the global we , 😆 are on the last bit of wall now. I shall spend today sorting through my hobby stuff that I removed, although I did it in May. I have a box full of knitting machine parts which belong to two different machines so I intend identifying the right machine for each part. If the snow isn’t too bad I may pop down to Dunelm to look at curtains, and buy a storage box for some of our family history computer discs, then we can store them more efficiently. I have a dance exercise class this morning but otherwise no plans.

Have a good day everyone

We've had a light shower Sue. I've just come out of the shed, I shall have a token walk but only round the block to get fresh air. Then breakfast and post on shed matters, we have made progress.

It was. We did a 4.8 mile round trip. It was mainly like that. 😊Stunning views to Derbyshire in one direction and the welsh hills in another .

Colin successfully delivered to Airedale for the day. The roads are slushy but fine even through Lothersdale.

Good Wendy. What little snow we had is turning to slush, roads look clear.

Bad news on the washer front. Its full of towels and flashing warning lights have come on halfway through the cycle. I turned it off, waited and restarted at the beginning of the cycle. It did it again in the same place. The manual says switch off at the plug wait then try again , if it happens again send for the service man hmph ! Two more loads to go !

Check your drain filter. The water may not be emptying fast enough.
