Thank God for that! If he hadn't got it he might have gone into a decline. Yes! Well done Ian.
Sorry Gloria, you too were on track but it was a receiver, not an emitter.
Next one?

Froment made dynamometers so i am guessing this is an analyser for the charts - all I could find on Bing!

That could be true China but it is not the description I have. It was for a specific purpose. You're on the right track.

I have absolutely no idea. I did think at first it was a clock for clocking in pigeons, but it’s not that.

I can see why you thought that. It's a hard one Gloria, I wouldn't have got it. I shan't leave it sat here for long.

Does it make holes in cards to use in a control system? Like the old punched cards but a circular format?

Sorry no China. I shall wait until this afternoon and knock it on the head. Last clue, it's for analysing certain specific charts.

No Peter. It's too obscure. It's in the Science Museum collections and is a ready reckoner for interpreting charts of readings analysing reinforced concrete. I know, ridiculous!

"French instruction booklet by E. Reybaud, Marseille "
That's very close indeed to being 'spooky'. Can't say why though.

It's not at Menwith Hill Gloria. As Stanley notes, it is a reflector dish for a space mission. It's already built, so what are the two people doing and what special work will it be used for?

I think I'd better bring this one to a close! The photo is copied from the latest issue of Popular Astronomy magazine. It shows engineers conducting a `white light inspection' on NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) in the clean room at the Goddard Space Center in Maryland, USA. It is `an orbiting infrared observatory that will complement and extend the discoveries of the Hubble Space Telescope, with longer wavelength coverage and greatly improved sensitivity. The longer wavelengths enable Webb to look much closer to the beginning of time and to hunt for the unobserved formation of the first galaxies, as well as to look inside dust clouds where stars and planetary systems are forming today'.
