They have these here too and they are very effective camouflage, even in parkland in cities. A great idea.

I think it was included in the opening credits of "The Streets of San Francisco" (Karl Malden and Michael Douglas) cop series.

I just looked up oriel window and I was surprised to see that in fact I've got two - one front and one back. Good to know what it's called.
PS The bottom story doesn't look perpendicular to me - or is it the camera?

I see what you mean David. Looks as though the windows are angled back a bit.
