No, but it is a type of glass.

I'd just be picking green glass objects at random now, unless it wasn't originally green and the heat has caused a colour change :biggrin2:

Good one Stanley, I like that idea.

My brother-in-law lives by White Sands Missile Range and we went past the base when we visited him a few years ago. I loved New Mexico.

Not a bottle of any kind. Think of other uses of coloured glass materials. I'm signing off for today but looking forward to your suggestions tomorrow!

Glass rolling pin?

None of those. It's a man-made glass material, opaque and was used in various applications. In the case of this one you would have used many, not one or two!

Made for holding flowers (vase) or perfume.

Or fruit bowl.

Bowl of marbles?

Not vase or fruit bowl - remember I said you'd use many not one or two. Not marbles or small window panes or sea glass (but Gloria's suggestions of sea glass and trinitite earlier one were clever even though wrong). And Gloria's getting even warmer with `small window panes'. Think of other uses of glass squares or rectangles.

Glass blocks in walls and decorative structures? Are they mosaic tiles from Pompeii?

So close China - not glass blocks but definitely decorative!

Emeralds are a form of glass generally square or rectangular in their crystal form not that I have two or three about the house, but to continue... The meteor blast over Tunguska in Russia is said to have fused / melted some emeralds which have subsequently been found in the ground. Emerald. No doubt its the wrong answer but I found it interesting.

A fused Liberty lampshade?
(I still think it's actually Hulk Snot!)

You're all barking up the wrong tree. I wrote after Gloria's window panes `Think of other uses of glass squares or rectangles'. You will all have had these in your houses at some time or another, whether they were made of glass or some other ceramic.

Yaaay! Well done Ian! The object was a green Vitriolite tile melted by a bomb blast. But you're still only part way to the full answer. Now I want to know how it came to be found on a beach.
