Good one Tize, and well done Ian, but Oh my goodness I’m just happy to know that it used to be a tile.
Think I need another glass of something

Why would tiles be on a beach....arrggghhhh.....slipway for boats maybe lifeboats? This is a really good one, but it’s giving me a headache.

Not a slipway. Sorry about the headache, Gloria!

I'll give you a clue - the tile was melted before it was on the beach.

As part of rubble for sea defences?

Can’t think why glass would have been placed on the beach. Was it in its original state on a ship which exploded and was swept ashore.

Not from an exploded ship, Gloria. Stanley is almost there - it's part of rubble used for sea defences. But which beach and where did the rubble come from?

Liverpool bomb rubble and Crosby beach.

I just came to the same conclusion! I remembered seeing a tv programme about it, Britain at Low Tide?

Well done! Yes, Crosby beach and WW2 rubble from the bombing of Liverpool. The photo shows a 1930s green Art Deco tile, probably from a bathroom, that had melted in the heat from bomb explosions or incendiary fires. The rubble had to be removed from the streets quickly, so any possible place was considered. Dumping on Crosby beach was convenient and also helped prevent erosion of the beach by the sea. Archaeologists have managed to trace a lot of things back to their original location, such as carved stone from important buildings in the city. Yes, it has been on TV too. Here's more information:

It was excellent Peter. The fact it was a Vitriolite tile explains the ribs.
Next one?

The image was far too easy but as always there' supplementary questions.
Where did the offerings come from?
Which Pratchett god were the sacrifices made to?
What happened to the cooking tray?

Brown's best flavoured sausages.
OM
It got soaked, cleaned out and used for cooking the replacement sausage this morning!
Tell me what this is.

I hope it isn’t a pile of your underpants that were hanging above your stove while your sausages were cremating...
How come your smoke alarms didn’t go off, Stanley?
