Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
You're close but no cigar. Kev is right in that it's earthenware and connected with cooking but not any kind of cooking pot.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I would have liked you to say 'spit-roasted' China but I have to give it to you, yes, it's for catching the gravy from roasting meat and of course acted as a reservoir so that the meat could be basted.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Sorry Gloria, no nothing to do with mechanicking. It is very obscure and I'll give a clue straight away. It's connected to medicine.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Easy! It's an orange ruler...oh, sorry, I thought the other thing was put there just to show the size of the ruler.
Well if the other thing is not for making pills what about pressing out something like stamps or tickets? Either putting a pattern of holes through (perfins) or raised marks (embossed).

Sorry no to all of you. I think this is impossible actually. Another big clue. It's an aid to monitoring progress in improving a congenital condition.

No Ken, more as a diagnostic tool. I shall knock it on the head at dinnertime, it's far too obscure.
