Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Could it be die-cast alloy run off (or leakage) that has solidified and someone has made into an ornament?

Is it a native metal, i.e. the metal found as the element in its natural state?

Kevin, how on earth did you come up with that?

I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
There are a few videos on YouTube about it. I remember watching some a while ago

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Impressive aren't they. Mind you, I'll bet the insects wouldn't vote for it. Is it cruelty to submerge them in molten metal or does it not count if they sting?

Is it one of the tools they use for cutting the `chads' in the Florida election vote (I think chad is the right word.)

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I though the same as Gloria , Candle snufferout thingamabob. Standing on the shoulders of giants I would add a wick trimmer. (candles). Anything else brings tears to my eyes.

'Flaring' the end of a bit of pipe. An old plumber's tool.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Kev has done it again! He's right, it's for flaring the end of a piece of lead pipe in preparation for making a 'wiped' joint.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
My first thought was something to do with wiping lead joints! My stepfather was a plumber so I've probably seen one in his tool bag. Well done, Kev.
