I still have that pic of the beautifully tidy midden in my head....
Don't know what I'll be doing. Must make a decision about what next!

Morning

Thick mist this morning, the hills have disappeared, in fact the garden isn’t very clear. I believe it should lift to just cloudy later. Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful Spring day. We did a 4.5 mile walk doing a combination of the many paths we have discovered this year. I soon had my fleece wrapped round my waist , enjoying the sun. We may get a walk in again today. This morning we have a bit of business meeting on zoom so it will have to be this afternoon

I did manage to wash and dry my fabric and cut out my top using the lounge floor. The jigsaw is progressing far too well to disturb it. We should finish it today or tomorrow except for the three pieces that Jean has put in the post having found them on the floor at home 😆. So walk, jigsaw, cutting out, a busy day. Briony’s pattern came for her dress, I received the result of assessment 8 of the Celts and we had a message from Laetitia in France. They had managed to stop the postman yesterday to open our post box which was overflowing . Postmen have a master key for letter boxes, mainly for delivering packages .

She sent a photo, a huge pile of junk mail, an equally huge pile of letters which are also probably junk as all important mail is directed here and there was an Amazon parcel. I think it will be the missing summer clothes I ordered last April in the heat wave. The ones that I was given a refund for 😆. They are probably too big now, having lost about 7 pounds since this time last year. There was a notification that we must have out electricity metre changed within the month or pay a 60 euro fine. Bob tried to contact EDF France last night to explain the problem but without a french mobile number he could not register on the site. Laetitia said she would try and get it done for us. If she can’t we will just have to pay up, though hopefully they will understand our situation and waive the fine. We can’t be the only people in this situation. There is no point worrying about it. If we didn’t have such good neighbours we wouldn’t even know there was a problem .

So thats it then, see what the day holds later. Have a good day everyone

The thing that strikes me Sue is that you are reaping the rewards of being a good neighbour to others when you were in France. Why does bread on the waters spring to mind?
I haven't been in the shed this morning but I have done something concrete, I have ordered a small wobbler engine of Stuarts. Bob will laugh but I have never completely understood wobbler engines, I know the basics but not the detail and I think Bob might understand me getting what is a beginner's engine.

I loved the little wobblers that Newton used to make, they were great fun and went like hell, never seen anything rev as fast! I'd like to make some to give away, I have plenty of non-ferocious....

Nice of you to say that about the neighbours Stanley. We miss our get togethers, English afternoon tea parties, Christmas parties and , the best , the pizza parties with the kids having a ride on the railway. They will love it now it goes all the way round the orchard. July is looking like a possible visit but not confirmed. They need to get their act together. Numbers are rising fast and the vaccination program is only on 5 million. So much political time wasting over the astra zenica vaccine. Here our 45-50 year old daughter, Julia, and hubby get vaccinated today. Claire should be soon . I lose track, was it 26 million now with second doses now beginning to rise too. Over 12 million astra zenica with nothing but flu like side effects if at all . The trouble is the damage is done by the ranting. We had a long chat with Laetitia about it and I think she has come to our way of thinking after initially being anti vaccine, as so many french are about all vaccines. They see it as government intervention in their lives. So much of France is very rural , they seem to think they can manage without. Their covid figures show differently

I thought your little machine was a sewing thread winder. It looks just like a cotton reel on some sort of winding gadget to me 🤣 Bob says he has made one of them

"Bob says he has made one of them"
Most hobby machinists have, it's a beginner's exercise. Egged on by Newton and of course my day job I plunged straight into larger and more complicated engines. I am going to put that right.
As for my comment about you and the neighbours, it's fairly obvious that's what's at work with Laetitia..... :biggrin2:

Let’s just see eh? Like I have consistently said...we can afford to wait. There is no rush here. We will wait until ALL views are examined. Open minds here. Just need to get the facts from those views not narrowed to their own situation. :good:

Who and the European agency have confirmed it. 38 cases out of 17 million vaccinations is less than in the normal population. By the way I read Scientific research papers as well as the press

I accept that...in the older generation of those vaccinated.
What happens in the younger people? ( we know those that are in late pregnancy or on hormone therapy already have a predisposition to blood clots, gosh...even women on “the pill”.)
I am not arguing. I just can’t see how one vaccine fits all. Do we draw a line between safe, and unsafe?
Do we carry on regardless?

I am not a grand parent. Would you allow your grandkids to have this vaccine with your absolute blessing?
If you had time to wait and see what the outcome was for the world, would you hold off vaccinating your grand kids?
( I kind of think I would)

You are very lucky Maz to live in a country that has dealt successfully with the virus, so unlike the rest of us, you can afford to take time over your decisions about the vaccine.

I think my posts have reflected that all along, Wendy.
I make no apologies for being in a better situation and thus viewing things differently.
I do not need to be nailed to the mast for waiting to see how the world deals with this.

Nailed to the mast?

Perhaps referring to Geek Mythology, Odysseus being tied to the mast to avoid being influenced by the Sirens call.

Perhaps a novel use of the phrase - but speaking of Sirens - good excuse to post a clip from my favourite film Sirens .

Yes I can’t wait for the whole of my family to be vaccinated whatever the age. All virus infections all vaccines have issues. These vaccines are far lower risks than most AND , their is no biological reason for this unless there is a predisposition to the problem . You can’t have a bigger vaccine trial than 17 million people, but that my opinion .

I strongly sense Maz that you neither like Britain and particularly me. I have had enough of every comment I make you challenge in a rather confrontational manner . This all started about two to three weeks ago and I have no idea why. You have accused me of promoting child labour, amongst other things . You imply I am an idiot and did my own thing despite being told not to go. On the contrary I was told we could go. We went out on the 11 th with good advice from both governments and quite a few days before the pandemic exploded.

Really you are the limit. I have tried not to retaliate but enough is enough. We all have a right to our opinion, without being slammed down. I am not one for emotive opinions, I search for evidence and reason it out as I have a very logical mind.

I was bullied at work for 4 years, I am not going to be bullied online. Ok so you don’t want my daily input then don’t read it, but just stop your aggression towards me

Slightly out of context though. The Sirens in this case are the the World Health Authority, European Medical Chief and countless other medical professionals who all say it is safe. Bordering on anti-vax strategy as there is no basis in science for refusing the jab.

Just seen your clip David. "Go to sleep you little baby"....Oh Brother!

So good I'll embed it properly. :extrawink:

Just got the result of my introduction to the Celts course. Distinction. I loved it, so interesting. A great way to spend a cold wet winter. Onwards, embroidery or meteorology or both together

I deliberately didn't do it that way, since when I last did it - it started to play every time without further action. That got a bit tiresome. I like what you did. That's the best way.

Its all Tripps fault. Fancy leaving a clip just when its getting interesting. Like stopping dance music when you still have one foot up in the air.
Could the ending be 'Circe'
Circe, in Greek legend, a sorceress, the daughter of Helios, the sun god, and of the ocean nymph Perse. She was able by means of drugs and incantations to change humans into wolves, lions, and swine. The Greek hero Odysseus visited her island, Aeaea, with his companions, whom she changed into swine.
Now I'll have to watch the whole film. :biggrin2:

Sue, I'm surprised you have put up with it so long. Now, simply ignore her posts, they will soon stop.
Maz, you have a way back. Start behaving with proper respect for others and all this will blow over. Carry on with this constant aggression and one-upmanship and there will be an end.

I hope so Stanley. Everyone has a right to their opinion and I value others, but there are ways and means of expressing them.
