Logan Rock on the Cornish coast south of Penzance? (A `rocking stone' that was pushed over by some British sailors in the early 1800s but the locals made them replace it.) Or something similar elsewhere!

The spikes make it look like its designed to tear things apart or mix them up. Something to do with felt or wadding, Just a guess.

It's one of the machines that I refurbished at Higher Mill at Helmshore but wasn't essential for the processes there.

I was thinking in terms of the old flock mattresses material using residue wool from other processes. Now a thing of the past Flatley dryer country.
