I just saw something on Flog It this teatime that reminded me of them so I googled Morris & Co chairs and that popped up first.

Just looked on eBay. Sadly there's loads of them, and the value seems to be fairly agreed in the range £250 - £300 each.

Morris and Co chairs

That was fun. . . .

I'd say they were 'school of Morris' at least and yes David, the straight back one reminded me of Rennie Mackintosh too.
Floods of mail connected with Jarndyce v. Jarndyce. It's all kicking off after almost two years of waiting. Now, all the lawyers who have been holding the matter up are wanting replies and action yesterday! I continue to watch and wait, I'll not believe anything until I see concrete proof.

If you've got any old red post boxes in Barlick you'd best keep an eye on them...

We don't have many of the smaller ones on poles most of ours are pillar boxes which the yarn bombers make seasonal and anniversary toppers for.

Here's Stanley picture of the the one outside Post Office Buildings, (now the bookies). We have another one outside the current Post Office, (formerly the Weavers Union and local branch Labour Party rooms). We have more pillar boxes outside other former sub Post Offices on Skipton and Gisburn Roads, (all get bombed). :extrawink:

See THIS BBC report that many will go back to work by commute today after the lifting of restrictions. However, they suggest that not everyone wants to stop working from home.
Did you see the accusation levelled against Quasi Kwarteng of bullying civil servants by saying they should be forced back to their desks as an example to the others?

A report that the Post Office can't afford the compensation payments that will be made because of their miserable performance over their Horizon Programme. Who pays? The taxpayer and the people who actually ran the scam are still in post either at the Post office or elsewhere.
This is a disgrace....

Express newspaper headlines.

Four tourist hotspots could be SUBMERGED as 'mega-iceberg' releases 152 bn tonnes of water

Due to global warming, icebergs are rapidly melting, which is causing the global sea levels to gradually rise, putting many populated cities and tourist attractions at risk of going underwater by 2030.

Has nobody told them that once an iceberg is in the water it makes no difference to the water level if it melts? Glaziers YES, Icebergs No.

Aye, I think it was Mr Archimedes that sorted that one out whilst taking a bath.

Does it go something like this: If an object is weighed in air and then in water, there is an apparent loss in weight. This is equal to the weight of water displaced.

Mr Plimsoll sorted out the safe loading levels for ships using the same constant a bit later I believe. :extrawink:

We will not mention Mr Hooks contribution, although important, as its not relevant to watery matters. Mind you for Archies rule you have to use some method of weighing. :laugh5:

As I remember it....
"If a body is wholly or partially immersed in a fluid, the upthrust or loss in weight is equal to the weight of fluid displaced".
So yes Ken is right and well spotted.
Another matter is concerning me today. I am under attack by the local jackdaws.... (Don't laugh, this is serious!) They have displaced the cowl off the top of the flue from my stove and will be busy dropping twigs in to build a nest. I can't find anyone who will go on the roof and put it back All suggestions for man with ladder gratefully received!
PLEASE!

Spooky. Ladders and Hook in one post section. I would offer Isaac Newton. "Standing on the shoulders of giants".

Now look here, we are not Grammar School fodder here. We will just say, the extension of a spring is directly proportional to the applied load for the non Latin plebs, or how I was taught. :laugh5: :extrawink:

Good, he did our ridge tiles and new flashing etc and more recently the missing slates off the small pitched roof section on the kitchen. Not the cheapest but you will get a proper job done.
