When we had our Nissan Pickup the chunky 'off road' tyres soon came off to ease fuel consumption and only went back on to sell it.
Haha, I like that trick, Wendy!

The road tyres on steel rims are still in the barn waiting to be sold....the fancy tyres were on fancy alloy wheels.

Sue Grey's initial findings published. PM Boris Johnson will address the Commons at 15:30GMT.
LINK
An initial version of Sue Gray's highly-anticipated report into Downing Street parties during lockdown has been published
She finds that some lockdown gatherings in government represent a "serious failure" to observe what was asked of the public
She says there were "failures of leadership and judgment by different parts of No 10 and the Cabinet Office"
The report is seen as preliminary because the Met Police asked for it to make "minimal reference" to events it is investigating
Senior Tories have joined opposition MPs in demanding the report be published in full
Gray's findings are crucial for Johnson as they could see Tory MPs force a vote on his leadership

My mate Steve came into the yard with his mate Paul who is a roofer. He says next time the weather breaks he will call in and pop an anti-jackdaw basket on my pot. I can cross that one off now.

Sunset on Yallingup Beach, WA. It's that colour because of a bush fire. Margaret and Mick are having a week there with their new caravan.....

For the record folks, it's not our wedding anniversary, that's in December. It's the anniversary of the day we met.
Thanks for the wishes anyway.

THIS report on Mr Poots unilaterally stopping border checks on incoming goods from UK. Is this legal or is this going to trigger EU action? I am confused.....

`Billionaire Bezos' superyacht sparks bridge row'
BBC video
`There are plans to take apart, and then reassemble, a historic bridge in Rotterdam to allow a superyacht built for billionaire Jeff Bezos to leave a shipyard. The luxury yacht, linked to the world's richest man, is being built by Dutch firm Oceanco. The vessel is reported to be 127m long and too tall to fit through the Koningshaven Bridge. Rotterdam's mayor has denied any decision has been made to dismantle the bridge, saying he has not received a request.'

How big an idiot would you have to be to build a boat behind a bridge too low to allow it to float out? I don't believe that story.

Wasn't it Brunel who built one of his ships at Milford Haven and they they found it was too big to get out through the lock gates?

I can't find anything more on the web about Brunel's ship (Great Eastern) being trapped in Milford harbour although it was there often for repairs. I think we'd read the story when we visited the harbour. But I did find this article about the GE which is generally interesting...

We noticed countless hundreds the other evening coming back from Skipton, I reckon they roost up at Thornton Rock.

The fact I forgot to turn off the slow cooker when I went to bed and my oxtail has had a thorough cooking! It doesn't appear to have suffered and the gravy is in the fridge as I write with the fat separating out of it nicely. I don't think de-boning will be a big problem either.....

Later.... I turned the FM radio on in the shed when I went in and got nothing but white noise. I checked with the FM radio in the kitchen and that was the same. 90 minutes later we still have white noise. Digital is OK via the computer.
