"I had just moved in with Col during the summer of 1975 "
You have no idea how old that makes me feel!

Bay City Rollers. I had to take Sally to see them at Skipton Town Hall when we were courting, very early days for the band, they were pretty rough and not my kind of music. She came over to the dark side of Rock and Roll not long after but still loves her Motown.

Local musician Tom Hargreaves' funeral today. A sad day for his friends, family and Barnoldswick music.

Was part of the funeral on the Square Kev? Reports coming in of a lot of people and a police presence.

It passed around the square around 10am yesterday. Apparently it was all kicking off in Barlick last night, fighting in the street near the Cross Keys and outside Mario's according to Facebook. Probably alcohol related but who knows.

52 years ago this July Stanley. All three of the crew were around the same age, all born in 1930. Only Buz Aldrin left now from the crew.

Ken Ranson, once a major contributor to One Guy and someone who always kept an eye on the site in case he could help with local history queries, died suddenly at home on Friday.

Ken Ranson. A good man that you could always rely on. In any e-mails he would always refer to me as 'Senior' and sign himself off as 'Junior'. As a works engineer he used to say. "We have more trouble with the tanks (containment tanks) than Rommel. Will be sadly missed.

He was also a member of the site under the "nom de plume" of Elise. I email the Earby Chronicles out to history soc members and Ken was the only person who acknowledged receipt.

I had just found that and didn't really want to be the one to post it. Sad news indeed.

The number of postings in the condolences column is very impressive.

RIP Bodger. . . .

Yes Wendy, I noticed he hadn’t posted a joke for a while and wondered how he was. 🤔
