Sorry, not for me, I have a history with the family.....
What got my attention yesterday was the fact that my new coat beat Myra, she couldn't shorten my sleeves for me. For a start the construction is too technical for her to just pile in and start cutting. Second, she reckons the sleeve and internal storm cuff are sewn from the inside before the sleeve is completed and then sewn on the coat. So I have them turned up at the moment and am considering Plan B!

I shall persevere with the sleeves turned up and if that is OK I shall just get Myra to stitch them in place as they are. I reckon I could live with that. Very technical construction!

Could you use fabric glue to hold the turn up in place Stanley? It would avoid puncturing the 'technical' fabric.

Not only have we become dependent on imports for oil and gas, we've also become dependent on them for our potato crisps!..
`Sunflower oil: UK bottler has a few weeks' supply left' LINK
It's crazy because we don't grow sunflower crops in the UK but you can make perfectly good crisps from rapeseed oil which grows well here. I know the article says we can't grow enough rapeseed here but it's available from many other countries around the world whereas sunflower comes mostly from Ukraine and Russia. I've always thought it odd that UK crisps are made with sunflower oil but I suspect the reason is down to marketing - the food producers are scared off by the word rape whereas sunflower conjures up lovely thoughts of warm, sunny weather.

They only need to start branding it as Canola Oil, your average Joe Public would have no idea. First press rapeseed oil is delicious, I've used it in place of extra virgin olive oil on a few occasions.

It's for the same reason the Canadian rapeseed processors chose to name their seed and oil Canola. Unfortunately the Canola Council of Canada made it a trade mark so you can only call their oil Canola. Perhaps we should call other rapeseed oils Brassicol after the Latin name for the plant, Brassica napus. And maybe the Ukrainian rapeseed oil should be called Zelenskol .

Is this the one from Aldi? First press oil I've been using it for ages.

Can't say it tastes any different when used for frying, but but it seems more virtuous somehow.

PS Brassicol is a good suggestion - quite a few people are going to be 'brassic' soon.

That's one that I've used, very nice with balsamic vinegar as a dressing on a caprese salad or for just dunking fresh crusty bread (not that I dunk fresh crusty bread very often).

Never heard of that before -

Caprese salad (also known as insalata caprese) is a classic Italian salad from the island of Capri. It’s made from only a handful of fresh ingredients and couldn’t be easier to make. It’s simple, juicy, creamy and always what I order when I’m traveling Italy. Imagine sitting in a cafe on the Amalfi coast, gazing out at the ocean and eating a caprese salad. It’s the most perfect experience ever.

I guess it must have been introduced to Lancashire by that famous resident of Capri - Gracie Fields.

You're right - though I used Tasty Lancashire for Mozzarella, and without the Basil of course - not keen on that.

I'll add it to the repertoire - lighter than mayo or salad cream.

On a sad note - I couldn't help thinking of my poet next door - it would have been her sort of thing. The whole thing would have made a good talking point. It's a year this week since she passed. I do miss her. . . .

In the days when I was selling loose biscuits from tins at Sough we always sold the broken ones in the bottom cheaper. Wast not want not!
