He's done it again! Waited until the last minute then popped in with the right answer. Yes, it's a detail from the Arkwright Water Frame.

Where is it? What's the name of the boat?

The Small Isles off Ardnamurchan, Canna, Rhum, Muck and Eigg? The boat is probably a Caledonion MacBrayne ferry but I don't know it's name.

That didn't last long did it. Perfectly correct Wendy. It's the Loch Mor on its way back to Mallaig after calling in at Rhum. The snow covered hills in the far background are The hills of Skye.
The Loch Mor off Castle Island at Eigg. It is picking up the fly boat from Muck. The pic was done from the Eigg fly boat, 'Ulva'.

In all our years of going to Ardnamurchan we never went out to the islands, except for trips to Tobermory on the ferry from Kilchoan. It was probably because once we had negotiated the long drive out to the Point we didnt want to do much more driving.
The view of those islands is just part of my very being and brings back so many wonderful memories.

Same here Wendy, my heart is definitely on the West Coast!
Strontian, reputed to be the most naturally radio active place in Britain.
The view out to Skye from the watermill at Kildonnan on Eigg in March 1988 as one of the biggest storms of the century was building.

I think you'll find the granite areas of Devon and Cornwall are the most radioactive places in Britain:

and even more so at the recently...

I vaguely remember something about a Scottish clan hiding in a cave and a massacre taking place.

I have to give it to both of you. They are the bed stones on which an engine sat. I shall have to find another!
