Garlic flowers are edible. They are best when immature or just beginning to bloom. As the seeds develop, the flower buds become hard and woody.

I've got quite a clump in my back garden. Actually I've got out of the habit of using it in cooking now, and don't really notice much difference.

Leeks?
Come to think those flowers look like large chive flowers so leeks or onions.

You can take the miniature bulblets from the seed head and grow them on for next year. Down here we don't get the daylight hours like they do up Norf to go in for competitions. .

Hmm, no takers. You need a clue? The window is so you can view something in the cellar which might remind you of a popular hot beverage.

Interesting. Something similar is the cause of `rock shutes' on parts of the Cornish coast. Lines of weakness in the rock surface become gouged out by large pebbles being rolled back and forth, up and down the shute, by the waves and with the tides. We have a print of this picture on our wall by Cornish Artist Sarah Vivian. Cot Valley is just south of Cape Cornwall (which itself is a much more interesting place to visit than Land's End!)...
