Sunshine and showers yesterday, some quite heavy rain at times. Glass still falling slowly, 29.5" this morning. Shower dodging again?

Think I heard this afternoon BBC TV weather presenter - after a period of sunshine and showers the weather will become more unsettled.

It was shower dodging! There must have been some good rainbows as heavy rain fell during bright sun. Raing hard first thing this morning, glass steady on just over 29.5" but three or four days of the same forecast. Barlick holiday weather.

Shower dodging was the order of the day but less frequent yesterday. Glass up slightly at 29.6" but much cooler. Lit the stove for an hour last night....

Damp flags this morning, showers late evening and during the night but feels much warmer. Glass fallen back to below 29.5". Good shed day!

Repeat of yesterday I think. A funny orange light early on, never a good sign. Glass just under 29.5". Another shower dodging day I think. Please can we have some summer?

It feels a bit fresher, not quite as close as yesterday.

Blue skies and bright this morning, cold and damp yesterday had to put a jumper on in August. Eileen

I lit the stove for an hour last night. Glass is steady-ish, dodging round 29.5". No heat wave yet!

Managed without the heating but the rain was heavy. Eileen

No stove last night, it was warmer. Glass is still nailed to 29.5" so don't expect any change.

Thunder, lightning, white water rapids down Park Street. It'll be a British summer then :laugh5:

I didn't notice the very heavy rain but noted it had thrown soil from the garden onto the path at one point. Glass is rock solid on 29.5", no foreseeable change. I noticed the blackberries have set their fruit.... Winter will soon be upon us!

Thunderstorms and tropical rain here in Somerset, roads flooded, landslips getting more common and even people being killed by them elsewhere.

We had a repeat performance of the thunder and heavy rain around 7pm. No landslips here Tiz, we specialise in rock! Glass slightly below 29.5". looks like a re-run, sunshine and showers.

Getting boring! Shower dodging again. Mind you, the glass has jumped to just over 29.6". Is there a bit of a change in the offing? Could we get some sun later in the week?

Bugger, I've been sussed! Nice one Pete.
Glass rose steadily all day yesterday, it's on 29.9" this morning. There was one particularly threatening bank of cloud yesterday at about 11am, Jack and I came back quickly instead of going round Valley Gardens but it never broke over us. The wage slaves may have a hot weekend, make sure the shors are pressed!

Just back from our walk round Valley Gardens. Beautiful sunny morning. Glass still rising quickly, it's almost at 30". I've been struck by how well our 'summer' has suited the trees. This one opposite the War Memorial looks particularly happy so I thought I'd post the pic. Trees always look better in the morning when the light is coming in at low level.

Nice day yesterday. Misty this morning and glass is just over 30". I've decided it's a bedding washing day!
