You've triggered me again Moh. My mother made lovely cheese and onion pies and I haven't had one for ages. I can see one looming up.
Yesterday I had a pressed beef butty for dinner and a haslet butty for tea. I am getting set in my ways I think! Must do something about it.

Steak and kidney pie with mushy peas and chips, followed by a mincemeat lattice pie with custard. All home made that will keep the cold out.

I watched this guy make this a while ago, and was drooling. Shame I don't eat pastry or cheese any more.

Hefty pieces of braised steak with crispy roast potatoes done in olive oil, new potatoes, chopped carrot and swede, with cauliflower and Yorkshire puds, topped off with sumptuous gravy. No sweet (pudding) required. Helped down with a bottle of French Red Wine, by 6.45 PM this will be on the table.

Hubby did roast rolled rib of beef yesterday with new potatoes, mashed carrot & swede, chopped brossel sprouts, home made yorkshire puddings & gravy - to night is a repeat with most of the ingredients already left over - just the potatoes to scrape.

Moh, your kitchen is definitely a bastion of old-fashioned cooking and more power to your elbow. Not a lot of incentive for full blown roast dinners when you live on your own. Yesterday was fish fingers, peas and mash for dinner and simple mash and peas for tea. I shall pop a loaf in the machine but no major cooking today, too excited to do it!
Stewart has caught the two shear that was missed last year and it was hanging on Friday last week. I'm expecting a delivery this week to go with the smaller two shear already in the freezer. Might get some chops out to defrost in the fridge....

Chip butty at dinnertime. Four chops cooked slowly all morning, meat stripped off and rest of the spuds plus peas added. It was a good hot pot three hours later and I had a bowl for my late tea after the operation. Had two poached eggs on toast first thing this morning as I was feeling hungry....

Whilst in town I bought two huge baking potatoes, not seen any this large for a long time. Three hours in the oven on low they were ready for teatime, beautifully crisp on the outside fluffy on the inside, The first was split in half and lavished in butter and a sprinkle of salt, absolutely devine. The second lay untouched I was full, this morning I scraped out the inside mixed it with a raw egg and pepper and formed into patties, the patties were fried and served with bacon for a warming breakfast.

Hot pot extended with peas so had it for dinner and tea. Put another piece of two shear on a bed of onions and garlic and cooked it slowly on the stove all evening, lovely smell! Stewart delivered the two shear hogg that escaped last year and it's in the freezer. Plenty of meat for the winter! I popped the kidneys from the hogg in with the meat on the stove, lovely gravy, I shall add spuds and peas this morning....
(Sorry about the garlic Maz!)

Started another hot pot yesterday but it wasn't ready at dinnertime so I had a scratch meal, Kalamata olives off the market in the Square, two small meat pies and two Eccles Cakes followed by an apple. Hot pot for tea..... Plenty left, it will be better still today.

Three hot dogs for tea, Probably no nutrition at all but very tasty, ketchup on two mustard on one. I ate them sat in front of the telly with a dog on either side. the dogs were rewarded for their patience by being given the ends which hung outside the buns.

Haslet butty with a small bowl of hot pot and the rest of the olives for dinner. Hot pot alone for tea. Fruit for pudding of course. As the level in the pan dropped a bit I fried the rest of the spuds and popped them into the pan. Plenty for today....

Small pressed beef butty and half a bowl of hotpot X 2 for dinner and tea. The hot pot gets better each day! (Sorry Maz, I don't put it in the fridge, just raise it to a slow boil each day to keep it sweet.)

(My excuse is that we've been busy up town with cinema and xmas trees on Friday and Saturday...)

Me and Tom had, Cheese & Onion pie and chips at Chubby's on Friday. (Lucy had a guides' party at the Massala Rooms at Foulridge...).

Me and Tom Saturday: soup at Cafe on the Square Saturday dinner; tea time we had a Thai takeaway from Newtown... Lucy had chips from Chubby's.

Today, I'm cooking dinner!

I had four sausage that needed eating so I cooked them, had one for a nibble for me and Jack and had the other three in a butty for dinner with cold hot pot. Bowl of hot pot for tea. One left for today....

Had roast leg of lamb yesterday with new potatoes, green beans, cauliflower cheese & gravy - same tonight with cold meat.

We're both on lamb Moh.... Had the last of the hot pot at dinnertime and a fish finger butty for tea. In the meantime I started another hotpot.....

Duck in cherry sauce tonight - last night's was shepherds' pie made with the rest of the lamb - three meals for £6.

Duck in cherry sauce makes my hotpot X 2 look a little plebeian....
Put two lamb leg shanks and a piece of leg in water with salt and pepper and let them cook slowly on the stove all evening. Basis for some pressed meat and veggie soup later today.

Changed my mind and it became another hot pot. Poached egg butties for dinner and hotpot for tea.... Had some St Augur spread on a newly baked loaf crust for a treat!
