No shame in Fish and Chips Moh! I had porridge for breakfast, two small roast ham butties for dinner and a bowl of the latest hot pot for tea. I am feeling no pain.....

Wendy, a little of what you fancy does you good! I had a big ham butty at dinnertime, extended the hot pot with peas and had that for tea. It never fails to amaze me how it improves as time goes on.

Beef Sausages, mashed Spuds, steamed carrots, green beans and cauliflower...with brown onion gravy.
Dinner was about three hours ago now, and my thoughts are just starting to turn to a small container of White Christmas that I purchased today and stashed at the back of the pantry. Will I be able to resist getting up off the couch and fetching it? Will I respect myself in the morning if I succumb to the temptation?

General consensus in the room was that I should retrieve aforementioned, carefully stashed White Christmas from the pantry. After two small rectangles, I wrestled the container back from Febby before he succumbs to a Diabetic coma.
Sweet?!!!
Sickly sweet...yuck...will save THAT for unsuspecting visitors I think!

White Christmas.
(Recipes available on net)
Easy made... Contains white chocolate, rice bubbles, coconut, glacé cherries, some nuts, a bit of lemon.
Very nice, but a little too sweet for people like me who do not have a sweet tooth.
Don't look up the recipe today though Wendy. Could totally blow your fasting day. You will find yourself unable to resist heading down to the supermarket to get the ingredients.
Be strong. ( but do put it on your list for tomorrow)

I would hate that - do not like coconut nor nuts, I do not like too sweet things either - more of a savoury girl. Had roast chicken, apple sauce, stuffing, new potatoes & cauliflower yesterday - same tonight but with roasties.

I like most sweet things but they don't like me!
I did something completely out of character yesterday. I had a big bacon and egg butty for dinner and it put me off the idea of the remaining hotpot so I chucked it out. I had been slowly building another lamb stew during the day and in the afternoon added two bags of broth bits and some small spuds. It was cooked by teatime so I had half a bowl of the new stew for tea. I made it slightly different, very nice and it was a good move.

A bacon chop and sprout tops. Love sprouts tops - my favourite 'green'. Grocers here have them, but you can get them at Morrisons.

The last bowl of hotpot is sitting in the fridge waiting for dispatch today. I saw a nice dark piece of rump steak in the butcher's widow yesterday and went for it. I put it on a bed of onion with a slosh ow Lea and Perrins and did my usual trick of slicing a full bulb of garlic in two and letting it soften as the steak cooked, so much easier to get the cloves out when they are cooked. I had the steak on a big butty at dinnertime and saved the gravy for some Shepherd's pie I am going to make today. Got some very ripe plum tomatoes that were going cheap at Chowdrey's and cooked them down slowly with vinegar and water till it was a thick sauce, this will go in with the wether mince which is defrosting in the fridge. For tea I had the crust left over from the last loaf, toasted, spread with the tomato purée and covered with Stilton, a meat pie to fill up followed by fruit.
(And yes, Moh triggered me again when she mentioned Shepherd's Pie on Wednesday!)

Last bowl of hotpot for dinner, two small pressed Beef butties for tea followed by a crust with tomato purée on and the last of the Stilton. Apples for pudding. Boiled and mashed the spuds ready for today's Shepherd's Pie building!

Dinner was black pudding and egg butties. Tea was the main event. I built my Shepherd's Pies. Here is the pup I had for tea, the overspill from the two big ones that are in the fridge.
The time and trouble I put into them was well worth while. Lovely grub! I didn't ridge the top and brown it as they are thoroughly cooked and don't need any more heat above what is needed to warm them up. Four good helpings at least are left for today and tomorrow.

I don't keep them in there Maz, I buy and use them fresh apart from frozen peas... So there!
Cottage pie X 2 (small helpings) and a small cheese and olive butty at tea time for a filler. Three helpings left! Lovely.
