It is a bit tricky.

The 3 bits together- Pressure bar, U link and Tube - are called “Medi File Tubes”.

The large special file folder is folded over, then folded again in the middle. Open up.
Line up the pressure bar with the pre-punched holes in the centre of the folder, on the left side, with the hook-bits on the outside.
Feed the end of the tubes , right to left , thru the punched holes top and bottom, so that it looks like a backward C.
Then hook and secure around each top and bottom hook-bits on the pressure bar and the tube ends then point right.
Pull the tubes tight to secure.
The pre-punched Patient Medical Records/Forms etc are fed onto the tubes.
Then the pointed ends of the U link are pushed into the hollow ends of the tubes to secure.
Fold over the left side of the folder and you’re done.
To add more records you just remove the U link, pop them onto the tube, then replace the U link.

I make up dozens at a time and I have to wear 2 thimblettes and 2 plasters otherwise I get “wounded”.

Looks as complicated as Cathy's ring binder.

What's wrong with the lever arch file anyway? Gives same access and comes ready built to avoid injury in construction. :extrawink:

Slip it over the sensitive parts and it can act like an emergency break going from top gear to neutral in one move.

It’s got horse mane or tail hair in it, but can’t think what it could be for. It looks pretty barbaric.

Well I've googled it and it wasn't easy to get the answer! It's the framework of the Burringham Ploughjack's hobby horse costume, so it's much bigger than it looks in that picture, big enough for a man to comfortably wear it. Why did nobody guess that! :laugh5: :laugh5:

Was it fixed on the end of a shaft to make a knobbly club?
Or perhaps it was a non-returning boomerang?
