I shall be looking for a good spell in the shed and bookie watch is on I think. I had a good spell on the bench yesterday, quite pleasant if you were wrapped up warm because there was no wind. It looks as though it will be the same today.

Morning

What a beautiful dawn .

This morning I have zoom art with Briony and no doubt later in the day I shall talk to Eve on Whats app. I have no other plans so will take it as it comes.

Yesterday I decided to take my sewing machine for its annual service. I phoned Oswaldtwistle Mills and the Sewing Centre said it was quiet. It was. We were there and back in just over the hour. As the weather was so nice I decided to clean and disinfect all my bird feeders as avian flu is on the rise again. Bob put up some Christmas lights around the house and then pottered in his workshop. I decided to take advantage of some quiet time and sit and read my sewing magazine.

Have a good day all

Morning Sue, that all sounds quiet and positive. Yes, it's a clear morning here with the full moon high in the sky. This high pressure gives you either clear sky and sun or dense fog, there doesn't seem to be anything in between.
I have had a quiet hour and a half in the shed doing lots of small jobs on the main bearings. The last was to make the 4BA studs that are missing from the fasteners kit!

Now for breakfast and second sleep.

The mist came rolling up from the Lothersdale direction soon after I took the photo. We had a cold and misty walk starting at Salterforth, across to Kelbrook then on to Foulridge via the old road with coffee and a shared scone at the Wharf. Back along the canal when rhe sun came out for a brief spell!

They were serving drinks and cakes only in the conservatory and though it was after 12 when we left no-one had arrived to eat so it was very quiet!

Forgive the off topic - but mention of Oswaldtwistle Mills brings back strong memories of the year 2000. It may interest some.

I had seen this guy advertised in Accrington the previous day whilst attending an Appalachian Clog Dancing Workshop at The Mills - like you do - and since he was billed as "World Champion". I couldn't resist attending.

This is more recent. Still good. . . .

Pierre Schryer "World Champion Celtic Fiddler"

Magic atmosphere. A couple of pints of Thwaites' mild, and quality music. I remember he said his "sweetheart" was first trumpeter in the Kiev symphony orchestra. I wouldn't doubt it.

I had a chat with the organiser - chap on the right with the white hair. He made us very welcome, and said 'we only do accoustic'

Took a walk to Lower Wanless Farm, had a cup of mulled wine and then back home again. The fog is rolling in

The 'carb police' will be slapping my leg at the next appointment, small slice of Christmas cake, cranberry cheese and a brew. That's me being festive :biggrin2:

Wendy sometimes bites me ankle when I say it but a little of what you fancy does you good Kev.
The fog was forecast for noon but the sun was switched off at about 10:30 in Barlick. You're right Kev, it was Crombie weather.
Today I shall be continuing work on my bearings and having a walk and bookie watch later.

Morning

No nice bright morning today, its dark and dull. Just had a message from Claire to say both she and Adam are positive , although Adam wasn’t sure. Both are having a PCR test to be sure . At the moment this seems to be just a headache and getting very hot. Lets hope it stays like that. Both are fully vaccinated, minus their booster which is booked for January 5 th.

This morning I have pilates only, yoga is cancelled. We are expecting Claires friend to drop off a Christmas present for Erin, which we will then take up to them, making sure their is no contact between us. Otherwise no major plans. Yesterday I spent a couple of hours cleaning my sewing room, moving out furniture and giving everything a good wipe down and vacuumed. It gets very dusty especially after I have used the embroidery machine .

Have a good day all

Yes looking good Stanley. I am always in awe of your work, and Bobs for that matter. Its one thing sewing cloth its another manipulating metal

I doubt my house is that clean. The sewing room gets that sort of clean about three times a year maximum.

News from THE ROOKERY. ( Claires family name is Rooke!) Erin feels a lot better, she rushed into the kitchen this morning and wants to make a gingerbread house, meanwhile Claire feels rubbish she says, though mainly a headache. We shall do our daily test later. Its hard to know anything from how I feel in the morning as I always gave a cough and the sniffle till about 11.00 am .

Wrapped presents today (it's not even Christmas Eve).
LFTs negative.
Out to Pendle Heritage Centre for a Bublé by Candlelight evening.
That's Monday sorted.
Harrogate tomorrow for lunch with youngest offspring and associated family.
Back to work on Wednesday.
