Yes, Kev it does, so I have a record on the covid app and my NHS record

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Well thats out of date, Bob positive, I was negative this morning. Too long to be related to Erin , and also our last required day for testing. I presume the 7 days has a safety margin in it. The theory was 2-4 days most likely chance, with omicron 1-2 days
We have stayed in all week apart from the shops to buy food in case we didn't go away, which of course we haven’t . Bob has been three places I didn’t go. Two supermarkets and to hand the keys in for Daves flat. That was all on Tuesday, just the right incubation time. He was wearing a mask at all times.
So we are here and so are Eve and Brionys Christmas presents from three Aunties/uncles and us . We have both had a PCR tests. Bob is not particularly ill. He started with a hoarse voice yesterday and was coughing a little more than usual despite a negative test in the morning. He coughed all night. Both symptoms seem to have subsided now, his appetite is good and he says he is going to make a curry for tea. Forget keeping him in a separate room ( well he was in the workshop all day today) I think we have been together too much over the last week .
C’est la vie. Merry Christmas all

My youngest offspring tested positive yesterday afternoon, he's been for a PCR this morning. We visited on Tuesday so have tested and are both negative.
Offspring had his booster on Monday and felt a bit 'off' on Tuesday, he started coughing on Wednesday and had a headache on Thursday morning which prompted the testing. He feels fine today but has to isolate now.

Me too, purely for selfish reasons. We're booked in a hotel on January 5th for a few days away.Sue wrote: ↑24 Dec 2021, 22:55There is a lot of it about, hope you stay negativeBig Kev wrote: ↑24 Dec 2021, 21:50 My youngest offspring tested positive yesterday afternoon, he's been for a PCR this morning. It's very quiet here. Susan was coming over yesterday but had a migraine for Xmas and Kahara Duties, sh also had to take Jess to the hospital for her final scan. I told her not to bother about me, we can catch up after Xmas. So I'm isolating and touch wood it's working.
I shall be in the shed for a couple of hours (but only one image!), then second sleep and than cooking for Xmas Dinner at teatime.... Liver and onions in gravy with mashed potatoes.
Nice to be back with you all, thanks to Ian and I have made a donation in case he needs it.....

Merry Christmas one and all
We have just had our first whats app message of the day from Briony and I am sure there will be many more. I have also had my first lateral flow test after Bob tested positive, still negative, but like you Kev we are away in January and if i am going to catch this I would rather it sooner than later. Bob is doing well. He had a good nights sleep with hardly any coughing. He ate well yesterday and had a glass of wine. To be honest unless you knew you would not know he was ill. Which is good . It was interesting that after Bob posted a positive lateral flow test on the government website he was given a code to post on the covid 19 app. We didn’t do it as I had already posted it on the app. We await the PCR results. We were told 36 hours.
Meanwhile it will be a different Christmas for us. We shall have a large special breakfast, a late Christmas dinner which we will cook between us and not bother with another meal, except perhaps a small bite of something for supper.
Have a good and merry day everyone

I'm glad Bob isn't poorly Sue, give him my best. I shall have a good breakfast, cook veggies later and for tea I shall cook liver and onions and have that with veggies for Xmas dinner.

This is this morning's work, getting the casting ready to make the connecting rod.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
We are waiting for Craig to do a lateral flow test before he comes up, he has had a cold and bad chest for a week but has kept testing negative. He wasn't going to come for Xmas for fear of giving Col his cold but I think we will risk that.
Light eating for us so our xmas meal will be spread over the day and probably tomorrow too...
The next issue is whether Craig stays overnight and risks being snowed in by morning, it feels cold enough for snow already and the easterly wind is a nasty one for drifting on the tops!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
He is fine Stanley , we have both eaten a hearty breakfast . We are rather partial to liver and onions ourselves and why not eat what you like at Christmas . We have a turkey crown bought rapidly at the Coop late on Tuesday evening in an empty shop. Veg will be home grown from the freezer as I was going to shop early yesterday but we were having a PCR test instead. No way was I joining queues later . Good job the broad bean and potato crops were good . We have sprouts in the fridge. We always have sprouts in season. We love them

Youngest offspring is bored more than anything, the cough has gone and he's awaiting his PCR result.
All this talk of liver is making me hungry, we both like a bit of liver with a full English breakfast.
Have a good day everyone however you're celebrating it. We are looking forward to a buffet at the Barlick Raj. If you include the takeaway buffet last year this will be the 9th consecutive Christmas curry.

It looks as though being anti-social and isolating is serving me well up to now. I'm testing negative but I don't do one every day. I shall wait until I start coughing if I'm not meeting anyone.
I shall be in the shed working on my connecting rod.... Could have a short walk if it's stopped sleet/rain at noon.
Margaret is vegging out in 39C in Perth. (It was 44C yesterday!)

Morning
Well I have been sleeping next to a victim Stanley my PCR was negative and this mornings lateral flow is negative. Ah well we will see. We had a good day yesterday. Lots of contacts on whats app and messenger and lots of TV interspersed with various courses of our meal, which we spread out with a break between courses. Illness did not affect Bobs appetite.
I have no plans for today though if I want to I can access a pre recorded pilates/yoga video. Its raining so no fun going for a walk by myself. I may continue sewing my new pilates leggings but it depends if Bob is going out in the workshop. At sometime I wanted to go to the sales at Dunelm for two new fitted sheets for our new mattress but Boxing Day is not the day to go. We have a piece of ham to roast for tea tonight plus the veg left over from yesterday. I think the rest of this week will be a variety of left overs in different formats including my favourite , turkey and ham pie and turkey soup. There is not a lot of turkey left as we only bought a small crown.

That made me smile.... it's a wonder he didn't go in the shed.....
I have half my liver and onions left and will have that tonight. I've had a nice spell in the shed doing useful things....Here's the bearing on the crank pin ready for finishing touches and a con rod....

I think he would have gone in the workshop if it hadn’t left me alone and people were contacting us. He has been in every day so far . It did us both good to chill out in the warmth and not do much

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Bob had been filling in the track and trace online form for an hour, stopped to have breakfast and it has taken him back to the beginning. Now the link doesn’t work! He has just been asked for feedback. I leave it to your imagination on what it will be

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
The wonderful track and trace system has just caught up with me and P, we have been identified as being in contact with someone who has tested positive for covid. We already know this, it was youngest offspring on December 21st, and we are required to take daily LFTs for 7 days. The 7 days starts from the day of his positive PCR, which was December 24th so, despite the contact being 3 days earlier than the result, I've now had to order more LFTs to continue testing until December 31st.
You’re a contact of someone with COVID-19. You do not have to self-isolate.
You should take rapid lateral flow tests for 7 days or until 31st of December if that’s earlier. You may become infectious even if you’re fully vaccinated or do not have symptoms.
Linked the t&t notifications to our NHS accounts (we both have the app on our phones) but it doesn't appear to be showing anywhere yet. Today's (negative) LFTs showed up almost instantly in the NHS app.

Same here, we were 4 days in and have already contacted everyone. I have to test to Jan2 nd, longer than you. I wonder if that is because we are in the same house holdBig Kev wrote: ↑26 Dec 2021, 12:18 The wonderful track and trace system has just caught up with me and P, we have been identified as being in contact with someone who has tested positive for covid. Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I thought it was 10 days from exposure but who am I to argue with a first class app. The whole thing is reliant on a lot of honesty from people, I would bet a shilling that all of the great unwashed, that were dragging their knuckles around Colne Asda today, couldn't even say 'lateral flow test' let alone actually use one. There were a lot of 'chin supports' being worn, last minute dining arrangements for tomorrow necessitated the purchase of hot dog sausages to feed some 'clean' offspring and associated grandchildren. I wouldn't have gone near the place otherwise.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I am still saddened by the number of people who are ignoring mask wearing. They can't all be medically excused....
Perhaps they haven't realised how many are going down with it.
Today will be a normal shed day and perhaps a walk today, I never bothered yesterday, it was so cold and miserable. Today could be just cold fog!

It changed last week I believe, depending on vaccinated statusBig Kev wrote: ↑26 Dec 2021, 18:55 I thought it was 10 days from exposure but who am I to argue with a first class app. The whole thing is reliant on a lot of honesty from people, I would bet a shilling that all of the great unwashed, that were dragging their knuckles around Colne Asda today, couldn't even say 'lateral flow test' let alone actually use one. Quote...although this ambiguous
What has changed
COVID-19 infection rates are very high and the Omicron variant is spreading rapidly. The self-isolation advice for contacts of people with COVID-19 has changed to reduce the risk of spread to others.
Anyone aged 5 years and over, who has been identified as a contact of someone with COVID-19 and who is not legally required to self-isolate, is now strongly advised to take a rapid lateral flow device (LFD) test every day for 7 days or until 10 days since their last contact with the person who tested positive for COVID-19 if this is earlier. If any of these LFD tests are positive they should self-isolate in order to protect other people.
And this, for people who live inthe same household if vaccinated
if you are fully vaccinated or aged under 18 years and 6 months, and you live in the same household as someone with COVID-19, you are not legally required to self-isolate. However, you are strongly advised to take an LFD test every day for 7 days, and to self-isolate if any of these test results is positive

Morning
Well we had no snow yesterday, barely even any rain but it was misty and damp all day, and I think today too. Bob pottered in his workshop for a bit but also spent some time on the model engineers database for logging boiler tests in the NW region . He has just taken over the database which is running on a very old laptop on a very old system, not the best. Later he cooked a delightfully tasting toast ham for tea. He seems to have had a good nights sleep last night, the coughing is definitely less. I suggested inhalation to clear the nose and keep the catarrh of his chest.I made my new pilates leggings which I am rather pleased with and then later decided to start crocheting, something I haven’t done for a few years.
Today I think I shall turn my hand to cleaning up the old Singer sewing machine (circa110 years old ) . I bought it for £36 about 3 years ago, started renovating it but lost incentive at the start of the pandemic. Today I shall tackle the hand wheel, which is more or less ceased up. That should keep me occupied most of the day.
At 9.00 ish we have a Tesco delivery. . Hw will have to leave it in the front porch for us to pick up after he has gone.
My morning lateral flow test is still negative . Claire and Adams test kits have not arrived so they only have enough tests for one of them to check for day6/7 negativity, Claire says shes not bothered as she is not going anywhere and still dozing every hour. I suggested that if I was negative today I can take some of ours to her.
