What and where is this?

I'd never heard of magnesiotaaffeite before and even if I had I probably wouldn't have recognised it from that specimen. I looked it up and it occurs in a variety of colours. It was the first mineral to be identified first from a gemstone rather than the natural rough stone.

I thought it was something made by wasps or bees until I saw the little round yellow sticker. Is it made from papier mache?

Looks like the top half of a skull.

It looks like the top of a skull bearing the imprint of the blood vessels to the outer layers of the brain.

It is just that, but what can you tell me about it? It's quite famous in some esoteric quarters, like archaeologists!
