Did none of his Special Advisors warn him that the acronym ABS is already 'taken' and it stands for Automatic Braking System? Plenty of scope for comedy there.
It's also the abbreviation for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene which is used to make things like car bumpers and other auto trim.

Sorry for the pedantry but is it not Anti-lock Braking System?
Sunak doesn't bother about consulting with stakeholders, it is taken as read. e.g. he never asked Manchester what they thought about cancelling the future....
Advisers? Do you mean the same ones who guided him through the process of advising the public about changes to HS2?

I guarantee the photos in this article will brighten your day and help you all counter the effects of our politicians. (Once again, I have to credit Mrs Tiz for pointing me to it.)...

Mrs Tiz went with many other folk to the local tech college today for lunch made and served by the catering students as part of their course. The main course was roast duck and the pieces served were enormous. She could only eat half of hers and brought the other half home in a napkin. It'll make a meal for the two of us! She was shocked at how many other people ate all of it, plus a sardine starter and a filling dessert. No wonder we have an obesity problem in Britain and perhaps it accounts for why the two of us are not over-weight and don't have diabetes.

My attention is of course on the devastating flare-up between the Palestinians and the Zionists. Yet another episode in what seems to be never ending conflict. The main thing that strikes me is that it seems suicidal for Hamas to take on the Jewish state. I don't understand what they can gain from such blind aggression.
I suppose that's what sums up most of our reactions to the events in the Middle East, incomprehensible.

That's a striking thought David!
Mind you, my attention is being held today by something else, my eldest daughter Margaret is 62 today. I think I must be getting old......
The other matter that grabbed me is that the BT man cometh at 08:00..... He's got a good day for it! I hope it all goes well and quickly!

A59 at Blubberhouses, near Harrogate. Work is underway to realign the road but that's not due for completion until 2025. I would imagine they were hoping the existing bit would last until then, it was in a bad way though.
I had a nice visit from Susan and Mick. Susan flies out to Boston Massachusetts tomorrow from Edinburgh. She's bound eventually for the biggest Knitting convention in the world at Rhinebeck, NY State. It will be nice when she's back......

That makes sense Peter....
I have been busy supervising the take-off of Susans Air France flight to Boston, she's away safely and out over the Irish Sea heading for Ireland and the Atlantic, They are on time and will be landing at Boston in six and a half hours. So I have done my bit, I'll leave her to get on with it. I shall be glad to hear when she is safely on Terra firma again!

What grabbed me this morning was a PM from Ken. He is reading all the posts but it's late in the day when he gets round to them because his time is taken up with appointments with the consultants and tests to try to nail down what is causing his mystery symptoms....

This weekend Australia votes for ‘The Voice’ in a Referendum.
The Voice to Parliament seeks to establish an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice within the Australian Constitution. This voice would enable indigenous communities to have a say in matters that directly affect them, including policies and legislation.
