Nothing there for me.

This Content Isn't Available Right Now
When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted.

I'd go with 'usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people'

Doomed then unless you can see it and run it Kev. If you can open it you should be able to copy the reference.

Don't know why I'm pratting about with this, more important issues in the admin thread, would appreciate a bit of input.

I can see it, and run it. Not everyone has access to it though.
I reckon you're flogging a dead horse going the Facebook route...

You could well be right Kev although the random video I tested with from Barnoldswick Talk was not from FB friend jus the first one I came across. Copied the reference and shoved it into a test post and it worked fine. Crux may be that you need to be a FB member to see it. Should repeat it in the practice thread and see if Stanley can see it. That will put it to bed one way or the other.

The URL https://www.facebook.com/susan.graham.7 ... 478813254/ which links to the video in Margaret's Facebook wall will work for me, as she's on my 'friends' list. The video was posted by Susan, onto Margaret's FB wall and, I suspect, has the viewing permissions set to 'friends of friends' which is why Plaques doesn't have permission to view it (good old Facebook). I tried embedding the link into a post but it doesn't like that.

There are a couple of options that I can see, either Susan changes the permissions on her post to public or, the video is uploaded to YouTube and a link to there is posted.
Stanley did look for the video in his phone but I suspect the WhatsApp settings are configured to not auto download media.
You should be able to manually download from WhatsApp by 'holding' your thumb on the video and a download popup should appear. It will then be downloaded to the WhatsApp Video folder and can then be uploaded to YouTube. I trust that makes sense :-)

I have just put a test up from a video shared to my timeline. I agree that this will come down to a permission issue. Proves that folk don't need to be particularly paranoid about having a FB account. It is perfectly possible to have a FB presence with access to lots of interesting stuff without selling your soul to the devil.

I told them that any requests for friend status from Ian or Kev were safe....
Thanks for the trouble you are taking.

Ian, I responded to site development this morning?

The mystery deepens. I clicked on the link Kev posted at 11:44 and I got a request from FB to log in with a dialogue box that looks current. I closed my account long ago and they must still have me on the system. I didn't activate it, I don't want anything to do with FB!

Margaret and Susan have accepted my friend requests on FB, here goes:

So, there you have it, it's a permission thing on the video itself. I can see it on either timeline but not when posted on here.

And now, returning to jokes...

I've just had some of Elvis Costello's Mediterranean Meat Selection from Waitrose, it was very nice.

Olive Salami is here to stay...

Flags and poles have been on my mind of late. (The new flagpole in back Co-operative Street, still the union flag!)
Unfortunately, this brings two jokes to mind.
The first is from an old Goon Show sketch: Neddie Seagoon is stood on the side of the A1 waving a white handkercif to get a lift. Hercules Gritpipe-Thynne observes that the handkerchief is filthy and asks "Have you had it up a pole?" Seagoon says "Yes, and he didn't like it!"
The other concerns a young woman who confides in her friend that she is pregnant. The friend asks "Have you had a check up?" And gets the reply, "No. It was a Pole".
Sorry about that....
