Is it for helping to maybe stuff something, or distribute stuffing? 🤔

Not what I thought it was, I thought it was a knitting fork for making braiding.

Nevr heard of Lucet, and after looking on Youtube - it looks complicated, and well beyond my ability.

I like the look of this but never got round to having a go. Kumihimo

Wasn't there a UK equivalent which involved an old cotton reel with nails driven into it as the template?

Yes David, four nails with heads on and away you went, We called it 'French Knitting'. George Davidson and I made enough to make a hearth rug for his mum and a set of coasters for mine....

Yep. Wendy and Kev have it. A cotton reel tank. Like French knitting bobbins, we used to make them when I was a lad......

We all made them exactly the same as that, makes you wonder where the idea first came from.

My mum was a dressmaker and had a plentiful supply of bobbins. I liked the larger reels which were a bit like a diabalo, gave more clearance underneath so was a better climber.

How about the Matchbox Gun? Can't find a picture of the ones we used to make with half a dolly peg for the handle, a matchbox and a few rubber bands (Swan Vestas was the best for the body as you got more tension on the firing band. :extrawink:

Do you mean Fern Lea Ave. just below the dentist? There was some speed bumps across the road at this point. Peoples false teach used to drop out every time a heavy wagon went over it. :biggrin2:
