Sorry Gloria but no, that's the Finsley Gate engine. This is too difficult so I shall come clean. This is the plate off the Moss Shed engine and at the time it was in the office of the last weaving shed in Barlick, Bendem's 96 loom unit in Wellhouse mill.

Mrs Tiz suggests foraminifera! Their shells are usually calcium carbonate and they live in and on sea sediment. The chalk rocks we know so well are usually composed of the `foram' shells.

It's as obscure as that Peter and I have decided to cut it as it could go on forever. Hands up anyone who suspected it could be a Gorgonocephalus....
"Gorgonocephalus is a genus of marine basket stars in the class Ophiuroidea. Members of this genus are found in coldwater environments including the Arctic, the Antarctic, and deep-sea habitats."
Looking back Cathy was closest I suppose......
