That'll do it. It's for calibrating auto focus lenses. You focus on the QR code and take a pic. You can then check, against the number scale, if the lens is focusing in the correct place and adjust if necessary. All of my lenses needed a 'tweak' to get them spot on.

No sorry. Clue..... When Johnny was foreman at Henry Brown and Sons he designed and they made donkey engines at the Havre Park foundry. This was a survivor and Newton used it as a surface plate until I gave him a proper one, he gave this to me. But what is it?
