Cutting wind.... Clear night but no frost. Glass nailed fast on 29". No real sign of any change. Still, we are now in February fill dyke!
Weather forecasters are saying that a band of colder air is establishing over Scotland and will work its way south. First sign we shall see will be a change in wind direction to the NW so it looks as though we are starting a colder spell of weather.

Which we do not need!! It is a 'nothingness' sort of day today - our glass is 29.2
Say only a little but say it well.

We may have to endure it Moh.... The wind changed at about mid-day yesterday and moved round to the North by teatime. At the same time the glass started rising and is almost up to 29.5" now. All the signs of another cold high pressure system establishing from the north. It remains to be seen how long this system will last. Until it ends I'm afraid we will have a bit more winter! The only bright spot is that the forecasters don't think the north wind will last long.
Stewart Brown told me that they have just started lambing. Think of the little lambs.....
08:15 and we are back from our walk. I was surprised how quickly the frost had struck. At 05:30 this morning there was no frost, now it's hard enough to put a crust on the ground. Amazing how fast it can cool down. There's even ice on standing water in Valley Gardens.

A lovely bright day although a few clouds are forming now. A light, northerly breeze but extremely cold.
Say only a little but say it well.

Lovely day today with plenty of Winter sunshine but cold. Next week (Tueday) Winter will return with some snow showers moving down from the north. So, enjoy the milder weather this Sunday.

Supposed to be a frosty morning but at the moment it is light rain just starting. Glass rose to almost 29.6" but it's back at 29" now.

Just to make you green with envy:

Beautiful sunny day in Nanning. Clear blue skies. 25C/77f. Roll on summer. : :laugh5:

Actually we are having an unusually mild winter and the forecast is for this glorious weather to continue for at least another week. It's usually around 10-15C at this time of the year.

Would I rather be in Barlick than China? What do you think?

Windy night and flags are dry this morning but Scotland is getting it in the neck with gales and snow and it's moving down the country. Forecasters tell us that we will have a bright start but showers coming in later, turnin g to sleet and snow. Glass is on 29.2" and at the moment it's just breezy and dry.....

It deteriorated quickly yesterday Moh and by 09:00 the result was high wind and cold horizontal rain. Nasty. Wind woke me during the night, very unusual. At 04:00 this morning it had jusr started snowing but no weight and it's stopped now without sticking. Glass is falling fast and is almost down to 28.9". Not a good prospect for the day.

A spell of sleet and snow during the afternoon here in Nelson. Turned to rain by early evening and snow got washed away. Still very cold though. Better tomorrow with some sunshine although staying very cold and windy.

It snowed intermittently in Barlick until the afternoon giving a light covering, then warmed up and it was dry with all the snow gone by 20:00. Breezy night again but it's fair at the moment. Glass is rising, it's on 29.2" at the moment.

We had blizzard conditions from lunchtime till about half three when it began to turn to rain. It was horrible! The wind has turned to the north overnight.

We had a very hard hail shower about 2.30am on Tuesday, it was very noisy, then it snowed yesterday afternoon but like everywhere else was soon gone when it turned to rain. Today it is lovely and sunny with a north wind, the glass is on 29.4.

Reasonably bright but cold yesterday. Frost this morning and a clear sky. Glass almost up to 29.6" and steady. Forecast is a couple of settled days but Saturday night/Sunday a low comes in and we can expect snow.

It has been a lovely couple of days. The window replacement at Dads house is nearly done. We couldn't have asked for better weather. The house looks better already loads more work to do . We are aiming for April for completing everything.
