One of the Hinds puts her ear over the stags nose, as if upstaging him.

Thousands of starlings around this morning....it was a bit dangerous looking skywards as they flew overhead. I didn't have a camera with me at the right time to catch the "murmuration" but at lunchtime my neighbour's tree was alive with them.

It is mesmorising to stand and watch the starlings as they perform their dance before roosting. The experts say they do this to confuse attackers, to me it looks like the joy of life.

Whilst waiting for Mary to come out of a supermarket I sat on a wall alongside the river Teifi. Below me was a family of ducks on the mud, as the tide came into the river this is the moment when the first duckling floated.[attachment=0]PHOT0006.JPG

I thought my backyard lizard (a blue tongue) had left for a while but there he was yesterday 'bold as brass' drinking out of a shallow water bowl that I put out for the birds. As soon as he had disappeared under some ivy the native birds came back and had their fill. Lovely to see.

Clear frosty morning and a perfect skein of about twenty geese on a mission. Funnily enough, no honking, perhaps they could see so clearly.... I love to see those big birds travelling between the bottoms behind Gill Brow and the reservoir at Whitemoor.
