Wendy, it always makes me laugh when I read about your horse 'Dennis'. I'm married to a Dennis and one day my daughter Steph was riding with her friend; Den asked her what was the name of her horse. She replied "Dennis; a dorkey name for a dorkey horse". then turned and looked horrified. We all laughed. We're still all friends!!

Nice story Liz. I think my Dennis must have originally been Dennis the Menace as the girl who owned him before me had him all kitted out with red & black tack. He's never been a menace though,

he's always a been perfect gent....just a bit skittish at times!
Its about 4.5 miles Moh, and is our regular walk, but it can be a bit of a pull coming back up home!

Moh, I think Wendy has a fitness programme in place for Colin! When you think how poorly he was earlier in the year it's great to see him striding away down the field with Bertie. How is Bertie doing these days? He looks completely bonded from the pics.
Very cold last night, I hope the water supply is resisting it! Looks as though there will be a thaw on Wednesday.....

Both Colin & Bertie are doing well thanks Stanley. Bertie has settled really well, and the "inappropriate" growling is a thing of the past. He now brings his tug for visitors to play with instead of growling at them! Colin still growls at visitors but it's too late to change his behaviour....

My ankle has improved enough for me to be able to squeeze into my wellies and venture outside....but not enough to be able to walk on uneven ground without suffering. Col has been coping with the ponies for me.
The hens & ducks are shut away, the stables are clean & cosy with hay nets and feed bowls full of good stuff to eat....

Its looking a bit wintry...

Here come the boys...not enough room for all those feet on the track....

Nearly home...I've warned Col about the dangers of winding the lead ropes round his hand but he doesn't seem to have listened!

Coming back from shutting gates up, and Feeby is anxious about getting her tea too!

Great photos but it does look a tad cold. Keep reminding Colin about the ropes; I'ts no fun to be dragged around even if the pony is only small. It is hard not to wind though, you fell like you need a firm hold. As if you could stop them if they decided to run!

They probably don't feel the cold at all Cathy, one big shake and the snow goes flying! At least there aren't any lambs around yet, not like March 2013 when we had all those terrible drifts.

They were finished by last Friday. A lot of patching has been done, but there are places where it looks to be breaking down already...or they missed some.
