Glad you got your consultation Sue and I hope you get some answers. You're right, it has gone on long enough.

I carried on making my jaws but without destroying valuable tackle. I started in the lathe and ended up with two pieces of stock square enough to finish to size in the mill. Slow but sure and nobody or thing was harmed in this process. A good hour and a half.....

Sue, I'm still coughing nearly 4 weeks after starting with this cold. Colin has been worse than me, losing his appetite completely for a few days and now feeling completely washed out.

I have heard so many telling the same story. Funny thing is that the focus seems to have gone from post Covid symptoms. I'm not sure if anything has taken its place.
My best wishes to all of you...

I seem to have been coughing for ages in and off. We have been to Fort William over Christmas and I coughed noticeably less, just the odd spasm.

This isn’t covid or flu That has been written about too. There was a long article in the Manchester Evening News about three weeks ago. Its mainly to do with more mixing this autumn and things we would have built up a degree of immunity to we have lost over the three years . This year has seen things reappear with a vengeance

I hope you are as impressed with this as I am. My new 15tog duvets arrived so I have taken the old ones off the bed, installed the new super duvets and the bedding is in the washer. I shall deal with the old duvets when I have got more energy. They are out of the way....

Evri are claiming they delivered two parcels at 20:33 on Christmas Eve, they are lying. I have raised support tickets with Evri, pointing out they are liars. Also a support ticket with Aldi, as they are the supplier and ultimately responsible as they have the delivery contract with Evri.

This delivery is a second try Kev. They should have delivered over a week ago but said the parcel was destroyed in transit.... Yesterday was peculiar as well, the courier asked permission to come into the yard.....
Never mind, they are here now. Good luck with yours!

Morning
Stanley I could have given you some. Our spare duvets here were that I think from when we had the cottage in Wales. I have just replaced them with 10.5.

I was lucky yesterday. My telephone consultation with Dr Alam was supposed to 3.20 pm. He phoned at 1.30 pm and asked me to go straight to the surgery. I now have steroids and antibiotics of which I had to take a double dose yesterday. He says 48 hours should see me on the road to recovery. We also had the opportunity to have the review that I could not get an appointment for last week . So all is looking good. I spent the afternoon taking it easy playing with an embroidery program on my laptop

Today will be more of the same. Julia and family are off the Claires for the day, we shall stay at home.

Have a good day all.

Acting as a taxi driver and baker. I have already picked our Jack up from Lomeshay early doors as he had to drop his car in for some fault finding. That gave time for the kids to get out of their pits and get sorted for a trip to Manchester for the day. I drove them all to Burnley and dropped them off to get the bus. Sally goes for nothing on her bus pass, (she is a devil for punishment), goodness knows what it will cost for three kids. I am back home and contemplating baking a loaf.

Decided to have a walk to clear my sinuses. We managed just about 3 miles, it was enough. The waterfalls were magnificent after nearly 10 days of rain

I shall start with an hour in the shed on my vise jaws and then early doors shopping at the Co-op.The weather forecast doesn't look good for my midday walk. I shall take a view when we get there!

Morning

Another long nights sleep but at last the coughing is subsiding. If the sinus headache would go I would feel almost normal.

Today we are taking Julia and family out for lunch at the Italian at Hollingworth Lake. Other plans depend on the weather, though the forecast is poor. We may have a walk round the lake. Getting fresh air yesterday was good yesterday . I may get my small sewing machine out for B to have a play.

We shall see. Have a good day all.

I shall start the day by putting my chicken in to roast and going in the shed to finish the soft jaws for my vise. I have a bit of veggie cooking left for later and we are promised rain so a walk isn't very likely.

A short morning stint because after cleaning up and fitting the new vise jaws I seemed to be at a natural end point.

Image

I'm very pleased with my new jaws. I managed to get the first stages of making the clevis for the valve rod. I've cleaned up and everything is squared away. I am ready to get back into engine building. :biggrin2:

Morning

Gosh its dark today.

Yesterday was a good lunch and in my case a normal lunch at last. We were all set to walk round the lake afterwards but it was torrential rain. The sun came out as we drove home but it was too late, getting on for 3.00 pm and Ed and Julia needed to go to Aldi for food for their tea tonight. They are leaving his morning and having lunch with friends in Bolton before driving home. I will wash towels and bedding and return the rooms back to normal use. I will take my time.

There will be no annual party with friends tonight. We were going to Wendy and Keiths but as we have all been ill and are not fully recovered we are mindful that Eddie from the third couple has been seriously ill so we don’t want to risk anything. We will all get together sometime in the next two weeks . I think we may be in bed early but may just make it to midnight to view the fireworks over Rochdale and Oldham from our bedroom window.

It would be nice to have another shortish walk if the weather is not too bad. Have a good day all.
