Just for confirmation Stanley is that in historical posts on the site, (excluding the LTP) or in the Gallery itself?

All of them no matter how far back I go Ian.

The thing that got my attention was an immediate response from Colin to my request yesterday for engine plinths. He's found me me lovely Parana Pine and cut it to size and planed it. A bit of help is worth a lot of pity. Thanks Col!

Stanley please close your browser down and then reload.

There have been changes since you posted in the early hours. I broke it slightly last night before I went to bed but I have corrected that error now.

I did that. No change apart from the fact I had to re-adjust the text size, it was too small.

THIS caught my attention....
Mark Carney has told Donald Trump that Canada "is not for sale" as the president raised the prospect of the country becoming the 51st US state while welcoming the prime minister to the White House. Carney won election last month promising to "stand up" to Trump, who has imposed tariffs on some Canadian products and sometimes talks about annexing the country. The former central banker responded with a firm but measured tone after the president proposed a "wonderful marriage" of incorporating Canada into the US. Despite a strained relationship recently between the once-close neighbours, the two men also lavished praise on each other in what was a largely cordial Oval Office meeting.

I'm glad Doc and Carol are still enjoying themselves...... :good:

THIS caught my eye....
WeightWatchers has filed for bankruptcy in the US as it struggles with debt and fierce competition from fat-loss jabs like Ozempic and Mounjaro. The legal process will see $1.15bn (£860mn) of the 60-year-old diet brand's debt written off while it agrees new terms for paying back its lenders. WeightWatchers said it will remain "fully operational" during the process with "no impact to members". It follows the meteoric rise in popularity of weight loss injections in what the firm said was a "rapidly changing weight management landscape".

I've been for a short walk and a shop at the Co-op. The first thing I noted was how cold it was, my CH is on. The next thing was that the shelves in the Co-op are half empty, no eggs and hardly any milk. I was lucky to get the few things I had gone in for. Dot tells me that they have had a massive IT hack and no stocks are coming in. God help anyone wanting more than a few bits....

See THIS. We have white smoke.
The new Pope is Robert Prevost, who will be known as Pope Leo XIV - the first American pontiff to be elected leader of the Catholic Church. Prevost, 69, is greeted with huge cheers from thousands gathered in St Peter's Square. "May peace be with all of you," he says from the Vatican balcony. Chicago-born Prevost is seen as a reformer and worked for many years as a missionary in Peru before being made an archbishop there. World leaders have been congratulating Pope Leo XIV, with US President Donald Trump calling it a "great honour" to have an American pope

Just sorted a wasps nest that was being constructed in our small pent shed in the back yard. Single female I think who was constructing somewhere to lay her eggs later in the year. Unoccupied of course at this time of the year so a work in progress that I have put paid to. I sprayed the inside frame of the shed with wasp and fly killer for good measure. She will have to find somewhere else to build. I know they have a place but not in my shed!

Apologies if anyone has had any 'security' warnings when accessing the site this evening, I've been working on updating the SSL certificate.
A bit of investigation and it looks as though the process is working as it should, I just need to be patient for a background process to 'do its thing' (beyond my control), this could take up to 72 hours to complete. In the meantime the domain is safe and secure, you may experience intermittent issues viewing images, in posts, that are linked from the gallery.

I had a brief warning that the site was unsafe "as the certificate was self signed"

I suspect your certificate warnings are disabled in Firefox.
The gallery image issue hasn't happened for me recently either.

It's been 8 weeks since I bought my current car but still no sign of the V5 from the DVLA. I've found that they have a new email service, https://contact.dvla.gov.uk/email
A few presets to choose from and the option to add a note to the query, it also states I should get a response within 3 working days. We'll see how that goes.

Last night as it happens. As reported in another thread we went to the VE Day event organised by our local Branch RBL. There was a certificate presentation to some members for long service to the annual poppy appeal. Very shocked at the end to find that Sally and I were presented with certificates and badges for 30 years service to the appeal. I think my mum and dad would like that, they were both secretaries of the Mens and Women's branches of the Barnoldswick RBL, my dad was also secretary for SSAFFA for the same period.

Very well done Ian and Sally. Sounds like you each spend your time doing well.
Of course we know that, lovely to be recognised. 👍

Thanks Cathy, came as a nice surprise. I believe we were recommended by one of the local branch poppy organisers Anne Marie who was in post for a lot of years before the current incumbent Callum. I think mainly for our annual distribution of crosses to our local service personnel who are in or remembered on CWGC graves or recorded on family plots in Ghyll churchyard and cemetery. We intend to go down sometime this summer and try and record a "what three words" reference for each of the plots, or as many as we can find this year. Target is about 75 - 80, we need to find out when the mowing is done buy the volunteers which should make it a bit easier.
