I have had a nice hour with no upsets and the connecting rod is very close to finished.
The chicken is in the oven and I have just cooked my breakfast......

I shall be in the shed putting the final touches to my con rod and measuring exactly where the crosshead pin hole needs to be drilled. The danger of a disaster recedes but has not yet gone completely!
Not sure about a walk later on. We are promised a -5C wind chill and that will be taken into account.

Almost every dimension on the con rod and crank pin brass has been refined and the hole for the crosshead pin has been positioned and drilled. Tomorrow I shall make the pin and fit it to the crosshead.

Morning

Well just one activity today with a lot of forward planning involved. We will be having a late breakfast before driving over to Manchester for the matinee performance of the show. Erin is in a trampolining competition in Wigan this morning but as with all sports things it starts early so she should be here by 11.30 am. We are meeting the rest of the group at the Arena at 12.30 as our tickets ( booked through the boss of one of the group) include use of the private bar and more important the private toilets!. My big concern is the girls getting hungry. We can’t take food and drink in so have to buy…not cheap, hence the large late breakfast. Erin is eating a packed lunch on the way in the car. I shall buy the girls packets of crisps and some sweets to munch.

Ed and Bob are staying in Manchester for the afternoon, off to the Science museum I think. Ed will pick up B and take her straight home afterwards . We will take Erin home where Adam will be, ready to take her home . We should be home for 6.00: pm

I shall be in the shed chasing my con rod and crosshead! Not too sure about the rest of the day. I am having a bit of trouble with my balance today, it happens, and will have to be careful. I shall take a view later on a midday walk....

One image is all that is needed this morning. I have been working on refining and finishing the crosshead and measuring for fitting the connecting rod. This morning is a good example of why everything should be checked and rechecked. The drawing tells lies, if it was drilled and tapped to those measurements it would be useless and fit only for scrap. I have corrected the drawing and finished the crosshead so that it is correct. I have found my stock and got set up for making the crosshead pin. That will be done slowly and carefully tomorrow.

Morning

Hectic but very enjoyable day yesterday. I was proud to be the grandma of two well behaved very pleasant, polite granddaughters. However it certainly made me sleep last night it was an excellent show as usual, very polished production . It was quite difficult to see the difference between the professional dancers and the celebrities who had only been learning a few months. They must have put in some hours of training

This morning is pilates then it is a trip to the laundrette with towels , jeans and heavy cottons. This afternoon I shall restore order in the bedrooms and if I get chance , do the bit of sewing I need to do before Wednesday. Its yoga at tea time.

This morning I shall make my crosshead pin and fit it and then thing about painting castings ready for fitting up. A midday walk looks to be on the cards but it will be a cold wind. After that, it's catch as catch can.

I started the day by making and fitting the crosshead pin and then put the tackle away and stripped the base castings down as the next job is to paint them and make the permanent wooden base. A nice hour and a quarter with solid progress free from errors. My sort of morning....

Morning

Not much planned for today. I shall pick up the washing from the laundrette this afternoon and iron the few things that need ironing. Its pilates and yoga this evening. I have an alteration to do on some tracksuit bottoms that are too big for me and thats it.

We have had confirmation this lunch time that the repair man will be with us Thursday morning.

I shall be in the shed and will be painting my castings, not my favourite job.
I doubt if there will be a walk, we have rain forecast. So it could be an indoors day keeping dry and warm. Not a bad ambition on a winter's day!

Not a lot to report today. I spent three quarters of an hour painting the castings black where necessary. Not my favourite job but there you are, it's done.

Yes it is a video, all moving parts as they say. It does say it has been downloaded several times but I shall ty again . This year I bought him the model of moving planets, can’t remember what they are called. Its a wooden kit that comes in sheets of parts which he can sit and do in the lounge in rhe evenings. Apparently they are made in the Ukraine by Ugears.

This afternoon I have a session with Maxine ( tomorrow afternoon she comes here). At tea time I have online pilates, the last session of the week. We seem to have worked hard this week as I have a few aches and pains of used muscles not normally exercised :l

I have no other plans apart from packing my stuff for art tomorrow. Have a good day all.

Just tried opening the original . I managed. It asked me where I wanted to open it so I said DOWNLOADS. And there it was

I downloaded it OK but I don't have the correct app to play it on my phone.

No problem with the video. Really enjoyed it but could have done with a couple of more cycles.
Tell Bob that if he adds a couple of extra gear wheels and some fingers he could make a clock out of it.

Going to pick my new glasses up in Skipton, bus pass at the ready.

Bob made a longer one. I think it is on facebook. Last time I did a long video it would not upload on facebook thus I only did a few seconds.Its a bit hypnotic when it is working. i think there are 5 marbles in total, and at places in the circuit they have to queue to get the right weight for the next stage to work
