More progress but with difficulty as my only viable 7/16" milling cutter is too short to get to full depth. I shall find a way round it!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
I am sorry to hear this Stanley. I did read about the operation in Medical Matters and have been wondering how things were.
Today is Bacup market, we don’t need much meat as we are working through the freezer, but we need veg for soup, every day and salad stuff. After that a bit of sewing I think, though I am not decided yet. Today is also Claires birthday and Erins birthday party to celebrate her birthday to come on the 8 th. The party is actually a pottery painting party at a local venue, which sounds much less hastle than one at home
Have a good day all

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Thanks for asking Sue.....
Margaret has tears in the lining of the knee joint and they think she will need an operation. Katie was taken back into hospital after an episode where she was having difficulty breathing and severe pain. Turned out her internal organs were rubbing with the drain tube, no wonder she had pain. Susan has bad symptoms of Sarcoidosis allied with Migraine and fatigue. She has asked for a doctor's appointment and a blood test....
So you see, I am supposed to be knackered but am in better condition than these three.....

Jeepers thats a lot to contend with in one family. Fingers crossed for some positive news and recoveries.
We have just got in, decided to pop over to Burnley to do the rest of extra shopping there and see Jon at Patisserie Chanel on the market. He seemed more positive, trade was improving. Fingers crossed for them too. I love Wilkos, ours has closed down . I bought lots of bird feed at an excellent price, as good as B&M . Bob was looking for a warm outdoor anorak as his has given up the ghost, to be demoted to Sunday at the park. Unfortunately its now light weight summer stock , so the search continues

I've bought online from Sports Direct before, they've been very good. If something doesn't fit they'll take it back in one of their shops.

Thank you, Yes I have too. We have actually found one on Amazon. Not many places are now stocking what would be classed a winter jacket , even though it is certainly wintry still .Big Kev wrote: ↑04 Mar 2023, 12:53I've bought online from Sports Direct before, they've been very good. Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Ordering a new lithium ion battery for my 13 year old Dyson DC34 handheld vacuum cleaner. It comes with a replacement filter and a 5 year guarantee, I thought that was quite reasonable for £17. The original battery doesn't hold a charge for very long (around 3 minutes with the 'boost' button on, when new this was around 6). Hopefully I'll get another 13 years out of it.

You could also try here Sue. We have used Go Outdoors for quite a while for walking and camping gear. They have just reopened a newly refurbished department in Blackburn and they currently have a sale on, both online and in the stores.

I shall be in the shed for an hour and so far there is nothing in the forecast to stop a midday walk and perhaps a sit. All cooking finished for the week thank God....

Only one image. Here we have the two blanks with as much of the metal taken out of the centre as I dare with the inadequate cutters I have. They are cleaned up and ready to go in the four jaw for eccentric turning. That's for tomorrow....

Thats interesting, thank you . We do use Go Outdoors, usually visiting the one in Coventry when we are down there. Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
I have a bit of ironing to do today, not much. One of the advantages of winter is that jumpers and sweatshirts generally do not need ironing. Later I will sew up my jumper that I have knitted and do a bit of work on the sewing project I am doing with Maxine . Otherwise a pottering day.
Have a good day all.

Have a good potter Sue! I've had my walk and a twenty minute sit on traffic duty. A bit cold but supportable. Nice to be back in the warm though, having a light lunch... I get the feeling it's getting colder....

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
The task this morning was to set the blank up for eccentric turning the crank pin of the crankshaft. I've done this and started the cut. That took an hour. Tomorrow I can get straight into turning.

Morning
It was a busy pottering day, a bit of this and a bit of that. I finished my jumper, which took much longer than expected and eventually had no time to sew. Bobs coat arrived from Amazon, and what a good buy. It was reduced from £70 to £35, fully waterproof , breathable and fleece lined.
Today is pilates this morning, yoga this evening and hopefully sewing in between.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Sounds as though you are reconciled to an indoors day Sue and having looked at the forecast I don't blame you. I was in favour of a walk at midday but now I've looked at the wind and the -5C wind chill I shall stay indoors thank you....

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
It stayed dry here Sue once it had got the late morning showers out of the way but that wind was bitter.
I shall be in the shed this morning doing old fashioned eccentric turning with an interrupted cut. Thanks to all the work I have put into chewing out the excess this will be much easier and faster. I did my preparation work yesterday.
Looking at the forecast it's even colder today so I shan't even consider a walk but will cower indoors in the warm!

Morning
What a yuk day yesterday cold, incessant drizzle. A couple of times the sun tried to get through to be replaced rapidly by more cloud and more drizzle. Today is beautifully sunny but cold as forecast. I finished my sewing but it is back to the drawing board as the pattern Maxine and I created had a number of problems. All easily remedied thank goodness, but as my next session is not till April i have made my notes and stashed it all away . I have few plans for today so need to put my thinking cap on. I have pilates and yoga in the studio at teatime.
