Well done Peter, exactly right. It was removed so that they could rebuild the water wheel in there. The one that we took out of Glass Houses at Pately Bridge......

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Yes it's a pressure gauge. No it's not for gas leaks. It has a specialised use. What is it?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I agree with Kev, probe end with the rubber seal is pushed against the spark plug socket once the plug is out. Engine turned and you have the cylinder pressure.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I'll drop this one in here. Can anyone name the famous ship and where the picture was taken? For a bonus what year?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Not the Queen Elizabeth or the Windrush and a bit earlier than 1956.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Gosh Kev, that’s quite an image of the ship.
It took me back to ‘64 when we came to Australia on the Himalaya. We went thru the Suez Canal.
There was a war happening and they stopped the shooting from one side to the other so that we could pass thru.
We could see the soldiers on either side.

I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Is it Cunard's Mauretania, at Liverpool perhaps? Alternatively the old Dutch liner, the Nieuw Amsterdam?

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Tizer has the ship, it is The Mauritania. The location is further south and has a royal connection.
