I've heard them called Suzis or Susies but I don't know why.

Searched on Google and found this:

There is some reference on Google to being named SUSIE from SUSpended Insulated Electrical Connector. Perhaps that is why TTC adopted the name and registered SUSIE as a trade mark.

Azimuth and Elevation controls from a field gun. Maybe the type Stanley used during his National Service.

Ian's right, the back end of a 17pdr Anti-tank gun at Gatow in Berlin. Barrel no 20327!

The current puzzle.... Looks very similar to a clamp I've seen for tightening webbing.

Made in 1926. I'm beginning to think you Barlickers have lead very sheltered lives.
This is a give away clue.

It's a wire stripping tool but no idea of the manufacturer. Lets stab at it being used by the post office telephone blokes or something>

Good answer. Its a "Wanda" stripper. Made in Birmingham 1926. The cutting blade is a straight guillotine action which may have been good enough for stripping the old rubber insulation but not much use on modern material.

Ian, it has a wire cutter and stripper in it but Liz is right, it's the tool that came with this Rpault's connector kit.
