Careful with that sitting. Remember this chap?
I saw him in Oxford Street once in the 1980's.

Lust has never worried me. I wonder what made him so concerned?
I shall be in the shed for an hour working on the components for the valve train. Forecast is good so a walk and a sit at midday. Over all will be putting drops in my left ear to attack the total blockage. I am deaf as a post on that side. Never happened before, is it permanent?

Morning
Well that was a fabulous day out. A beautiful day for a train ride, and the trip back along the coast was stunning. Coming back from Victoria was a pain though. Normally this is a 12 minute trip but last night we had to wait twice to fit in with routine trains , thus it took 1 hour and 7 minutes, which after such a long day was very tiring.
Today is again due to be beautiful. Bob will be at the park all day and it promises to be very busy. I shall tidy up the front garden , it won’t take long, and just potter as the fancy takes me.
Have a good day all

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
That waiting for a slot happens to the Fellsman as well Sue. One of the disadvantages of being an unscheduled movement. Yes, another good day in view and Bank Holiday weekend as well.

All I had to do with the eccentric is to drill and tap it 1/8" Whitworth but Stuarts have sent me a particularly hard piece of steel as the blank. I had to redrill the tapping hole three times as I got deeper in as it was tightening to the point where I was in danger of breaking a tap in the hole.... Note the tin of Trefolex. I think that might last me out and Mo as well! Then I turned my mind to making the eccentric strap and came to a screeching halt when I realised that Stuarts had slipped up, there was no blank casting. Big search to see if I had one but the only casting that was anywhere near was was too big and had to be cut down. I'll start tomorrow by sharpening my milling cutter, there well be a lot of chips....

In the shed sharpening my cutter and pursuing the eccentric strap. Then, after second sleep, coffee with Susan in the square..... (Looks like another nice day.)

Morning
The garden is now tidied and beginning to look ready for its floral June. I did some sitting and some sewing. Bob was busy at the park, they took well over £200 in rides. We had coffee in the garden after breakfast and evening dinner in the conservatory, it was certainly a nice day.
This morning I have pilates, I think a walk may be on the cards later.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I think we are in for a good week Sue.... I shall have lunch with Susan in Town Square..... I hope you have a good day. Bob would be pleased to have such a good day yesterday.

As promised I did a deep renovation on my favourite milling cutter and for good measure, on another as well. Both gulleted, the back relief ground into them and than sharpened at 6 degree angle. Then I mounted the stock I am going to use and cut that back to 1/4". It's very good bronze, a very old casting, possibly about 100 years old.... I can now start to measure and cut the stock first to size and then to shape before actually making the strap.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Only one image needed, you don't need to see me using the milling machine.
Very simply, this morning was started by making the blank stock square. Then a lot of careful measuring checking and marking before cutting to one dimension, over the two lugs that the bolts are mounted in. Tomorrow I shall do the same for the two ends. After that we attend to shape.

Morning
Yesterday I pottered, did some sewing. We walked to the post office to post a birthday card, I did a pilates and a yoga session. Bob spent the afternoon in his workshop ( he is building a steam lorry ) but in the morning he went to wendy and Barrys to mend their kitchen strip light.
I have no set plans for today but need to adjust some shorts ( after my weight loss) before we go to Cornwall next week. Its pilates and yoga in the studio this evening.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Morning
Stanley the steam lorry Bob bought off a friend and he is making a trailer to ride on to go with it. He is also making a steam traction engine and trailer to ride on . He gets a different part every month over two years. Apparently I have got the two things mixed up! Its It keeps him out of trouble
Yesterday he spent the afternoon down at the park. They were doing a Spring tidy up of the grounds. I altered my shorts, pottered in the garden but then sat outside and crocheted for an hour or so.
This morning I need to go and get some more yarn for my crotched summer top. I am going to run out, I just hope they have some left. This afternoon is sewing with Maxine and at teatime zoom pilates, my last session of the week. The forecast is the same as yesterday so should be a pleasant day.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I suspect Sue is posting as I write this....

First thing today was to establish the next two dimensions of the stock for the strap and cut to that length in the mill. Before I do any more on the strap I need to establish the fit of the valve rod so I had to set to and make it. I have the 3/32" thickness milled and the two 5BA clearance holes drilled. I shall finish making it tomorrow.
There you go, she was. Sue I have had a laugh about your crotched summer top. I think I know what you meant....
I hope you have a good day.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
This morning, after the usual measurement and marking I defined the lugs that will take the two bolts that hold the strap together when it's finished and cut them under the mill. Then I drilled the lugs 5BA clear and made sure there was room for them. At the moment the bolts don't look long enough but remember the lugs will shrink 1/16" when I saw the casting in two. I'm ready to saw it tomorrow.

Morning all
Another lovely day. Like here its been sunny in France since the day we left, with temperatures now in the high 20s. Laetitia sent me photos of the flowers in bloom, she tells me she picked a load of strawberries for her family and Yves has watered my veggies. Such lovely neighbours.
Today I have art this morning which is a demo and practice session of a new technique by one of the members. This afternoon I have a pedicure and this evening we are taking Kath out for a meal to celebrate her 80 th birthday which was when we were away. A busy but pleasantly relaxed day.

Morning
I am not going to art today. We are expecting a service engineer mid morning, then this afternoon we are off to Burnley to meet up with a distant ( third) Widdup cousin who is over from Massachusetts. He and his wife are staying with a more direct line cousin, found partly through all my Widdup research. We are taking them all up to Heptonstall where I have traced the family origins, then a visit to Rochdale Parish church where the couple who moved to Salterforth circa 1790, married in 1785. If the weather is nice we may include a trip to the newly done up Shepherds Rest as it has stunning views of the area where the Widdups probably migrated over time.
That will fill the day. Have a good one
