Not upside down and not a wine glass, but you are on the right track.

Going to have to give it to Tripps, it is loosely a type of decanter, it is a plastic water bottle.

Correct Kev but Ken has given the right answer. Good though it is with stubborn wiper arms Sykes Pickavant made it for getting steering linkage balls out of their housings.
Next one?

The name Pickavant piqued my interest.

It derives from the French phrase 'pricke avant' meaning to spur on, and as such was probably a metonymic or nickname for a messenger or herald, one who was in advance of the main army.[1]

Similar to Pickavance which I always associate with the St Helens area. I think this search St Helens supports that in a big way.

I first came across the name when a lady bought Oldham Dogs and used to turn up in a Rolls which was parked in the stadium, just outside the bar. Very classy. I think she was connected to a transport business.

The name is said to be French - but 191.com shows currently 121 people of that name in Lancashire, and zero in any other county. I wonder why that would be - it's a puzzle.

I wonder whether that's connected to the reason why Lancashire used to be the biggest market for Benedictine Liqueur in the world.... The fact that the Lancashire Regiment were billeted close to the monastery in the Great War.
