I did a double take as well Sue! I don't associate Todmorden with camels!
I shall be in the shed being adventurous with my cylinder casting! Apart from that the most notable thing about today and tomorrow is that I have to avoid all meat prior to a blood test on Wednesday. Nobody has said anything but I suspect its a test for Creatinine which can be a marker for kidney trouble but in my case was almost certainly a result of eating red meat before the last blood test I had.
Could be showers nearer midday so I shall decide on a walk later......

I did some very careful measuring and then some even more careful setting up in the vertical mill. My task is to reduce the length of the cylinder to 2 1/8" and cutting the faces dead square with the valve face. I did an hour of careful milling and while I can't claim the cuts are dead accurate, they are as good as can be expected under the circumstances and perfectly acceptable for the job in hand. I am ready to set the cylinder up and bore it now......
That was a good hour in the shed..... I am a happy bunny.

It's good to hear the surgery have called you back for a retest, diabetics are at an increased risk of kidney disease and an abnormal serum creatinine level would set alarm bells ringing.

Morning
Camel racing and ferret racing, the latter you would associate with Tod

We were too late for the ferret racing.
Yesterday I spent most of the day making a new master pattern for my sewing. Having lost weight any thing I made using the last one needed endless alterations, so Maxine and I decided that my last task before we go to France is to make a new one. Its quite mathematical and as it is so long since I did one I needed to do a lot of reading and calculating. It isn’t finished. I hope to do that today then use it to make a toile to see what the fit is like.
So as well as that I deadheaded flowers and will have more to do today after yesterdays heavy rains. Its pilates this morning, yoga this evening, and this morning we are having the CCTV cameras serviced. Have a good day all

Yesterday I deadheaded some roses, nothing has died yet so I must be doing something right since my gardener stopped gardening.

Today I shall be in the shed plugging the bore of the cylinder casting with wood so I can make an accurate measurement and marking of the centre of the bore. If you search the literature you'll find plenty of alternative ways to do this especially if you have digital read out on your mill but none of them are as simple and accurate as this.(Only trouble is I hate the mess that wood makes as I turn the cylindrical plug for the bore.....

)
It looks as though we shall have rain at dinner time so that puts the kibosh on a walk and a sit on traffic duty.....
Only other thing of note today is a strict vegetarian diet yesterday and today in preparation got tomorrow morning's blood test......

Today I had to do some wood bothering to make a plug for the cylinder bore. I've done that, cleaned up after myself, installed the plug and done some very careful measuring. I have a centre and have installed the cylinder ready for boring tomorrow, it is set up on centre. No rush with any of this, I need it to be accurate.

Morning
We had a pleasant walk to the post office yesterday afternoon which broke up the day nicely, otherwise. It was the usual Monday routine. I finished my new Master pattern and made the toile, and so far so good
This morning we have an appointment, this afternoon a bit of garden cutting back then pilates and yoga in the studio. I have just under 3 weeks to cut back the June garden growth before we go to France. I also have a dress to make, needed for our first week back in September
It was a much cooler night last night, thank goodness resulting in a decent nights sleep. Have a good day all

Morning Sue, they are promising us a close muggy night tonight so sleeping might not be all that good.
We have just had a shower of rain here in Barlick, not on the hymn sheet!
I hope all goes well today for you.....

We are forecast to have the coolest night for some time tonight.... 11C, so that should make for a good night's sleep.
This morning I shall be in the shed as usual at 06:00 but after breakfast I shall have to forego my sleep as for some strange reason I arranged my blood test for 08:40 this morning. I don't think I'll bother going back to bed after that. Maybe a nap at dinnertime!

I've been looking at what I have to do this morning and have decided to have a day off from the shed. I have to have my breakfast and get scrubbed up and dressed for going to the surgery. I don't see the point in making things too busy so I shall have an early breakfast after a sit and listen to the news.....

Morning
I shall be pottering this morning, then we are off to Chorley to meet some friends for a meal. I doubt we will be back till later afternoon, but then I have my last pilates of the week on zoom at 5.30 pm.
Yesterday I made great progress with the dress for September for Wendy and Keiths joint 80 th birthday celebrations. Unfortunately I have had to send for some more material as this is an asymmetric dress and I cut out one piece the wrong way round, so its all on hold until it arrives.
I see its another day of rain and drizzle,it hardly stopped yesterday, have a good day all

Morning Sue! I am ready for the surgery and am having my breakfast. I think you're right about the drizzle, that's what it looks like here and I expect it to continue all day. No point complaining about it, we will have to work round it.Looking out of the window it is still bright and very light mizzle. Things could be worse!

I'm hoping for a normal day today! No doctor's appointment so I shall be in the shed at 6AM for an hour boring my cylinder. I'm expecting to see Susan and Mick today at some point and have to order my meat and go veggie shopping in the Square later this morning.
I like routine!

Morning
What a lovely afternoon yesterday with our friends Sue and John. It was 6.15 pm when we got back home so no pilates for me.
This morning is the last art at Haslingden until September, we do three 10 week blocks. Bob is coming along today too as it is yet another lunch out. Many of the art group are actually on holiday so as the numbers are small hubbies are invited too. We should be back home about 2.30 pm. I may pop over to see Wendy and Barry afterwards. Its a u3a wine appreciation, wine and cheese social this evening over in Tod.
Have a good day all, its due to be sunny and cooler.

A nice quiet morning with a good result. You can't beat boring routine!
Boring the cylinder. Quietly away and a very good result, within a thou of all my measurements which isn't bad for an Old Fart like me! I am very pleased and have tidied the mill up. I shall sharpen the cutter tomorrow morning.

I am back up after a good sleep and have surprised myself by changing the duvet covers, my least favourite job. They are in the washer now on a hot wash (I know! But I want them as sterile as possible. That's worth the expense!)
I am having a sit and a rest with a cup of tea...... Feeling very pleased with myself, a good cylinder boring and a bedding wash! My cup runneth over....

That went well, not! The device has registered in the US and despite numerous attempts to deregister and re register to Stanley's UK Amazon account it's having none of it.

Is there no equivalent of a "factory reset" Kev?

Yup, did that twice.

Might give it one more go at some point, following a deregister and restore to factory default, and inputting the activation code into the Amazon.co.uk/code page.
I did do this at one point but I think the device may still have been associated with the US location at that point. It's very frustrating but it won't beat me.

Was it bought through Amazon in the UK? if so I would contact them and say it is not fit for purpose. and ask for one that works in the UK. One of the problems with Amazon is that they source worldwide and this is probably US stock and configured with US firmware. If a factory reset doesn't work, that looks like the case.
Just read your update Kev, my points are still valid I reckon.
