Might also be an idea to ask YouTube. I once recovered a totally bricked Google tablet with a little help from there. It needed a bit of downloadable code to get it to go again.

Stanley has a UK Amazon account so I would presume they should have shipped UK stock. I did suggest returning it as not fit for purpose...

We use a slightly different solution for our non smart TV and Humax box which streams the internet. I have Channel4, itvX, Pluto TV and Plex apps on my phone and a Chromecast adaptor plugged into an HDMI on the TV. Start whatever on the phone, hit the cast button and the TV switches to the Chromecast and streams the program. Dead simple and not touched or reliant on Amazon.

I know Firesticks and the like offer a lot more but 170 channels on the Humax plus the built in streaming and 4 extra streaming services via the phone gives all the content we require.

I have just read that there are a few exceptions depending on model but the majority of Firesticks should be country transportable. Country specific content is set by regional settings on your Amazon account so it should work as long as its correctly set to the UK.

I think I just need to ensure the activation code is input at Amazon.co uk/code and not Amazon.com/code. Stanley's UK Amazon account is set to UK. I will give it one more go if Stanley is willing.

As you can see..... bugger Firestick, as far as I am concerned it isn't worth the hassle.Kev tried, God knows he tried, but it wasn't having any. He must do whatever he needs to do to get it out of his system but as far as I'm concerned, that's it, I have a full life and an exciting shed!
Today I shan't even attempt the shed as I overslept by over an hour and it's Early Doors Shopping at the Co-op. that's what comes of washing the bedding! :biggrin2:

Morning

Nice social day yesterday, and more today. Being Friday it's another lunch out. I really have no other definite plans but will take it as it comes.

I just went to use my ipad to write on one guy but it was logged out. I tried logging in but a message came up that I had tried too many times. I had never tried before. I am using my phone which was still logged in. Not sure what that is all about. I shall try logging in again later.

Have a good day all

Morning Sue! I hope you soon get over your problems.
I am just back from shopping, everything is put away and I am ready to have my breakfast. After that it's second sleep and veggie cooking later.

Not much luck at the moment. The password saved on my ipad is incorrect... I keep requesting a reactivation code to change my password but nothing is arriving. So I am logged in on my phone and blocked on my ipad.

Having done a bit of research I think I know what the issue is but would need to try it to be sure...

Sue, it looks like the password saved on your iPad is corrupted in some way. You should be able to delete that which should sort the problem. Your password must be OK as it is working on your phone.

I thought that but I xan't ocate the password on my phone so I thought I would change the password. I keep requesting a link but nothing comes through. Google chrome and my ipad say my password is a long string of letters and numbers but I know when I changed it so the password should be date related.

You need to know your existing password to change it. If you do, you need to go to your profile, (accessible from a drop down) on your user name at the top right of the page. Click the account settings tab and you can then enter a new password, (twice) followed by your existing password in the bottom box.

If you don't know your existing password, I can set a temporary one up for you that I can email you if required. You can then use this to change it to one of your own choice.

I will be there within the hour. The only assistance I'll need is for you to have Amazon.co.uk/code open on your PC ready for me to give you the registration code.
If it doesn't work this time it needs returning as faulty.

Unfortunately not a successful visit, despite two factory resets and inputting the activation code into the UK Amazon website it still has a Minnesota zip code embedded in it. Personally I would be returning it to Amazon as faulty but it's been retired to a drawer.
The device has beaten me.

No shame. What intrigues me is how it can have Martha's zip code embedded in it even though I have never used it on Amazon. It just goes to show the depth of data they hold on us.
Thanks to Kev for trying but in the end he saw sense, it isn't worth bothering with, it's a piece of computerised junk.

It's 8 hours now and no further forward

And all I find is the corrupted one on google chrome. It was never written down because we were travelling and I didn't have pen and paper handy. It was saved on Google chrome. Apparently that is where it is on my phone

That was meant to be a light hearted throwaway remark.

I've tried Google Chrome and all sorts of other stuff - but much still vanishes inexplicably.

I will not use my phone for anything important though - must be on a large screen.
