Sorry Sue, I didn't reply to this earlier. We currently have four challenge questions one of which is selected at random.

The Q&A regime was put into place a number of years ago to circumvent mass, (and I mean hundreds) of daily automated registrations that we had to tidy up with the previous regime that the board originally defaulted to. It was so bad at one time that I had to suspend all registrations to get on top of the problem.

This method works but as always I am open to suggestions as long as it doesn't open the floodgates again. We can define more in the selection list, if you want to make any suggestions please feel free. Please use the PM function on the site for any suggestions.

I do see the problem, however my.mind turned to the number of people in the States, Canada and Australia I have recommended the site to, they would not be able to answer local questions or even understand something like administrative County. I shall put my thinking cap on

I've forwarded you a message this morning Ian from someone who is having this very problem.
I shall be in the shed for an hour with my castings and later I hope I may get a walk in between the promised showers.....

Morning

Just checked the flight radar and Eve is just flying over Bejing, Ed is just leaving Birmingham to fly to Daegu, I don’t know if that is a direct flight. The kids must be exhausted and after they have landed they still have a long coach trip from Seoul to Daegu. I am not sure where Daegu is, must check

My day will be less exciting. I have nothing planned so may wash the voile curtains in the hall and the shower curtain plus a bit of drawer tidying. I have zoom pilates at 5.30 pm. The roofers are making progress despite the occasional shower of rain .

Have a good day

i drilled and tapped the steam chest for the steam pipe and than made the two pipes for the steam and exhaust. Then I milled the bottom of the base flat. Tomorrow I shall work on the base and the bed castings. A good hour and a quarter.

I think he does mine as well Ken and if so you're right, he does a good job.
I've been for my walk and a sit at the end of Albert Road on traffic duty. Not the warmest day of summer so far but relatively pleasant!

I started the morning with half an hour of handwork with big files on the base and bed castings. Then into the mill and I finished up milling the face that the cylinder bolts on to. Tomorrow I shall mill the beds for the crankshaft bearings.

Morning

The roof is going well but the roofers are not expected today, we need another skip and some more supplies of something but that should be sorted to finish Monday or Tuesday of next week. The neighbours have been very king offering drives to park our cars on. We had a walk in to Rochdale yesterday, whilst they were working. They have put in very long hours with hardly a break. In the afternoon I shortened some voile curtains that I washed in the morning and I finished my crochet summer top.

Today Bob is off to Oldham for 8.00 am to have the sat nav on his car updated, I am meeting a university friend, Sue, for lunch in Delph. Normally another friend, Jean, joins us but she is taking her husband (also Bob) for a CT scan. It will be about 2.30 pm when I get back and I have no other plans apart from putting on a load of washing this morning.

Have a good day

We have rain forecast for Monday Sue, I hope they finish before then. Bob's trip to Oldham for the upgrade reminds me of the man I saw on TV not long ago who said that cars now were computers on wheels....

Back from veggie shopping and a sit on traffic duty. Would you believe £26.71 for a weeks worth of greengrocery?

And in good computer fashion they could not do it today because the computers crashed.....

The roof is nearly finished Stanley and because of the rain showers they have had they have uncovered and replaced a bit at a time

Sounds as though you'll be OK then Sue.....
I shall be in the shed working on my castings. I'm making good progress.
Just remembered, it's Friday so I shall be doing early Doors shopping at the Cathedral of Choice at 07:00. The weeks fly by!

Morning

I had a good lunch with Sue,yesterday, its not often just she and I get to chat then back from lunch I finished tidying the front garden so now all is ship shape outside. I fed the roses and clematis last night and will feed the potted plants before we leave in a weeks time.

Today being Friday its u3a art and we are having a demo on printing lino cut designs. We shall then have a go using polystyrene instead. Its a bit different and I am looking forward to it. Afterwards we are lunching at the Shepherds Rest for a change. Its been completely renovated so we are interested to see what it is like.

Ed arrived ok in Daegu and put pictures online of the opening ceremony. It was a bit like a mini Olympics. What an experience for these youngsters. He did eventually manage to find Eve who was beaming from ear to ear.

Its due to be a very nice day tody, have a good one.

That all sounds good and positive Sue. All the best for today and I hope your roofers have a good one!

I carried on with the bed casting and this morning started by cutting the beds for the crankshaft bearing brasses then facing all the lugs that will take the holding down bolts. Then I cleaned up and removed the vise before dressing the bed with a diamond hone to make sure there were no interfering dings. Then I clamped the base down onto the bed and put the correct cutter in so I am now ready to mill the top surface of the base tomorrow. A productive morning with no mistakes. I have been to the Co-op as well and the shopping is put away. Now for breakfast!

This morning I shall put my chicken in for its 4 hour cook at 06:00 and then go in the shed to play with castings. We are promised a thunderstorm by 10:00 so beyond dealing with my chicken then I have no idea what will be happening.

Morning

Bacup market this morning, we shall buy for the week including next Saturday as we won’t need to shop then. Thats about it, no major plans. Garden tidy, house tidy. Thunderstorm forecast for the afternoon so I doubt we will go walking. I shall take the day as it comes.

Have a good day all

Morning Sue, much the same agenda here. Only difference is the veggie cooking has been done and it's the chicken that's cooking as I write.

Image

I carried on with the base and bed. First of all I milled the top face of the base flat. Then a clean up of the mill. Next I drilled the holes in the lugs on the base for the screws that will fasten the engine down to the wooden plinth. Once that was done I drilled the 2BA clearance holes in the bed casting and then transferred two of them to the base so I could drill and tap for two of the 2BA bolts that will hold the bed down onto the base. I fitted them so I am ready to mark the base for the other two but that's for tomorrow. That was a good and productive hour and a quarter.
