No, but I do make sure his ears are regularly cleaned.... You've got to look after your mates! (and I'm cheaper than the vet)

Waiting for the boiler engineer, finally got through to BG yesterday afternoon. While booking the appointment for this morning I was asked if there was parking at my house, whether we had dogs, could I smell gas and was I warm enough! All pertinent questions I suppose but never been asked them before in the same circumstance. They didn't bother to ask me about the fault code being indicated by the front panel lights though, I mentioned it but the guy on customer service seemed more interested in the dog I don't have. :surprised:

I'm taking Stanley a copy of Stephanie Carter's latest book "The Clatter of Clogs in the Mills of Earby". We are holding a book launch on Saturday 14th September and Stanley has kindly agreed to come and open the event. It is part of the national Heritage Open Days scheme, so our Archive Room is open and we will have a display of textile related artefacts from our collection.
Well worth a trip to Earby that day as the Yorkshire Dales Mining Museum has free entry (on the Saturday and Sunday), and there is an exhibition about the life of Katherine Bruce Glasier at the Earby Youth Hostel.

Ignoring Syria, badger-culling and spam about domain names. I shall get on with my own knitting and continue working on looking after me and Jack and getting the LTP finished. That way I sleep at night....

Going to see Mum in Leeds. It's not really Leeds where she lives, it's a village called Woodlesford which is beside both the River Aire and the canal, currently threatened by the prospect of HS2 going past on a 50ft high viaduct criss-crossing the canal. I don't think Mum will be around to be bothered by it, but I do feel sorry for all the folk who have bought houses in the smart new development down by the canal lock.

..not be doing Barlick Beach.

Yesterday, a good team of volunteers shifted the sand (or almost all of it) from the Town Square and packed away the Beach paraphernalia. (At the same time, we were catering for the annual Beating the Bounds walk; avoiding sand in the sandwiches.)

The Beach has had over 10,000 visits with families from wide and far, for many of whom this was their first visit to Barnoldswick.

Over £1,000 was donated to the Town Council's Chairman's Charities (RNLI, Fell Rescue and Hospital Mini-bus).

Will potter about today preparing the marquee for the events on Wednesday and at the weekend.

Not too sure actually.... I've started the day well with a load of washing and a loaf baking in the machine but as for the rest of the day..... I am sure that at some point I shan't be able to resist a look at LTP2013 on the dev site and no doubt I'll find something I want to alter but I shall resist the temptation! Bit of tidying up in the shed happen, that might get my engineering juices going. Funny thing is I have a couple of big research projects rumbling round in my head and one minor one which I might pursue today.....
