Sorry I never came back to you Kev. Yes, you're right. Warding files. In case anyone is wondering what warding is....
"Warding Files are used by locksmiths in repairing or filing ward notches in keys. "

AVO Meter, Model 7 I believe. I used and AVO 8 for twenty years. Two of them actually, the first one ranged for working on equipment with valves and the later one ranged for transistor based equipment. The later models cut out was not fast enough and you used to see plenty of them with bent needles if you used them on the wrong setting. :extrawink:

It looks as though this one has fooled you. (And Google as well I'll bet!)
I shall come clean later if there is no answer.

It's an oil pick up that was mounted on a reciprocating bearing like a crosshead and it picked up oil from an oil-soaked wick that was fed by a lubricator. Simple but very effective.

Now, try this one!

Head of King Arthur `statue' on Tintagel Island, Cornwall.
Here's a photo I took some years ago - I should have waited until the man in the background moved away but I hadn't seen him there! I think the heritage people need to feed Arthur more, he's looking a bit peaky and fading away! :extrawink:

King Alfred's jewel is inscribed with `AELFRED MEC HEHT GEWYRCAN – 'Alfred ordered me to be made' but if Arthur has a jewel I bet it's inscribed with `Show me the man who had me made and he'll feel the sharp end of this sword'. :laugh5:

Look like stalactites in the opening of a tunnel, mile tunnel perhaps on the Leeds to Liverpool?
No, don’t think it’s that, as that is stone, this is brick.
