White Scar Cave is in Ingleborough so are Ingleton caves but at t'other side of the same mountain.

Exactly Kev. Precise because it is so stable, negligible contraction or expansion with a change of temperature, unlike a metal one.....

Sorry, there isn't much information with it. It's very hard and only two inches long and has a different grade on each side, fine on one side and even finer on the other.

You are both on the right track, you've got the material right, a very fine carborundum.
Now tell me what such a small fine stone was used for in the mill. There was only one purpose.....

Sorry no. It's obviously too difficult.... If it is still unsolved later this morning I shall reveal all. Think of the different aspects of producing cotton cloth. One trade used these small fine abrasive stones.....
