I see there are no takers. Perhaps I am being too picky! This is a box hinge. One leg of the pincers passes through a socket in the other leg instead of being simply laid on it as usual. Only found in blacksmith made tools. A very clever and if you don't know how it was done, puzzling way of making. Only used in high end tools as it was a complicated process.
