I thought Peter would be straight in. It was him/he who introduced us to it!

I sent an email recently, perhaps rather pompously, pointing out the difference between eluding and alluding. The author seemed to be unaware of it. Strangely he has not replied, to thank me for my assistance. :laugh5:

Is it Crossness Pumping Station in Bexley ?

The Rose Window, Alexandra Palace. I think we had a trade stand at a computer exhibition there back in the late 80s but it could have been somewhere similar....

Definitely a Forgotten Corner. It must have been an Atari show, not a major part of our business so just a couple of us required on the stand...just setting up probably.

Wow - I used to sit in the van doing 'manual monitoring' parked on the park path, (bottom left) within less than 100m of that spot for a week at a time in about 1986. I never gave it a second look. I remember that the Chernobyl explosion happened, and the Independent newspaper was launched, whilst I was there. Just checked - yes both 1986. I've also been up in the radio room on the right below the antenna mast. As you can imagine from this picture in the opposite direction - there wasn't a better pitch in the area to look 'line of sight' over the whole of London.

It is indeed the Rose Window at Alexandra Palace, well done Wendy. I put the new roof on there in the 1980s :good:

That certainly stirred a few memories.

At some point in the late 1980's 3 of us have a connection to the Alexandra Palace! Kev is up on the roof, I'm in one of the exhibition halls selling video digitisers and David is doing something secretive and mysterious in a van parked up outside.....spooky!! :laugh5:

It's a small world :biggrin2:
Definitely late 1980s, the building was handed over in 1988 and we were there snagging for a few months after that.
