Might be for December , the number of days below 5deg C has been quite a lot, so not-sub zero everywhere but colder than normally

We had one very light spattering of sleet but apart from that a dry day but bad underfoot. At 20:00 it was very cold but dry with a light breeze and a clear sky. First thing this morning broken high cloud a light east wind, dry and cold but the moon clearly visible. The glass is up slightly on 1021mb. The forecast is for a cloudy but dry day, the cloud could break a bit around midday. The constant moderate wind is NE giving a high of 3C and a low of -1C with a -4C wind chill most of the day. The outlook is for very similar weather, perhaps a bit less cloud and dry but very cold.

I've just been out 'for a walk'. I put that in inverted commas because it can't really be called a walk. The cloud is heavier and the moon obscured. We have a light easterly breeze and it is freezing hard. Very slippy underfoot even where the snow has been shifted. I went no further than the top of the street, no point in taking unnecessary risks!

Funny weather yesterday. In the afternoon we had a spatter of rain from low ragged clouds racing across from the East. At 20:00 we had a light cold breeze with a mostly clear sky but some scattered cloud. First thing this morning a bit more cloud with the moon obscured but still plenty of stars. The cloud is not as thick now and more uniform, no stars but we have a veiled moon. The glass hasn't moved and is unchanged on 1021mb. The forecast is for a dry cloudy day with one exception. According to the Met Office at around 14:00 to 15:00 we shall have sun, rain, snow and cloud in quick succession. Good luck with that one! The constant light, becoming moderate, N/NE wind gives a high of 2C and a low of -1C with a wind chill that reaches -4C at times.
05:25. I've had a full walk this morning, still freezing but it's improved enough underfoot to make it safer. The sky is still cloudy enough to mask the moon but clear patches are coming in from the east and there are stars on show. Just a light wind and it's cold but it could be much worse. I can envisage veggie shopping later this morning, the Co-op can wait until tomorrow.

Yesterday encouraged more of the snow to go away even if it was very cold. At 20:00 it was clear and cold but there had been a light shower. Same first thing this morning, a light overcast and evidence of a recent light shower. I've just popped me head out and it's clearer now, the crescent moon is clearly visible. The glass is still steady on 1021mb. The Forecast is for snow and rain at the moment but no sign yet, otherwise a brighter cloudy day with a chance of a snow shower around 09:00. The wind is a light NE giving a high of 3C and a low of -4C with a -3C wind chill. The outlook is for very similar weather for the next five days. Wrap up warm!
05:05. Back from a short walk. The sky has cleared and a very sharp frost has developed. The light rain that fell earlier has frozen on the cars and surfaces and it is slippy underfoot. That fact cut back on how far I walked, better safe than sorry!

Apart from one very light snow shower it was dry all day but cold. At 20:00 it was clear, calm and very cold. Same first thing this morning. I've just looked out and it is clear, calm and a hard frost, about -6C I'd say. The glass is down on 1015mb. The forecast is for an almost calm, very cold day with a chance of snow from 11:00 onwards. The wind is very light and variable, swinging all round the compass. The high is 1C and the low -1C with a constant wind chill of -2C. The outlook is for similar weather for the next three days and then perhaps warming a little.
I suspect a Cold Weather Payment will have been triggered for us Crumblies!
05:30. I can't really claim a walk this morning, I only went up to the top of the street. We have an iron frost and it's slippy underfoot, be careful out there.

Slippery isn't the word for it. Stood on a very modest slope on the drive and found myself sliding backwards downhill. All thoughts of moving out or taking the car to the supermarket have been put on the back burner.

Our forecast for 04:00 to 08:00 tomorrow morning is 3C with light rain and snow. Wind expected to be 14 m/h from NNE. First time I've seen snow on our forecast in 16 years living here. It will be lovely to see the hills and mountains if we actually do get any snow. We are located just south of the Tropic of Cancer. I might hibernate for the next few days!

Strange weather China. I have just got up from second sleep and pedicure. My feet are singing, I have slippers on, not going out again today, too cold. At the moment it's dry and cloudy.

I'm glad you're glad China. Meanwhile, in the land of the free...
Yesterday was cold but mainly dry until later, at 20:00 we had a light breeze, it warmed slightly and we got very light snow which melted as soon as it hit the ground. First thing this morning it was the same. I have just looked and it is snowing more heavily now, large flakes but they are still not sticking. The glass is down slightly on 1013mb. The forecast is for heavy cloud and the chance of snow all day, there is a yellow warning for ice and snow until midnight tonight. The wind is northerly light to moderate and gives a high of 2C and a low of -5C with a -4C wind chill all day. The outlook is for two more days of this and then on Monday we get a strong Atlantic low giving us warmer weather and more wind and rain.
04:50. It's snowing harder so I went out early for my walk. I's sticking now and building, it remains to be seen how much we get but it seemed a good idea to get out before it got any worse underfoot. I shall take a view on further walks later!

Today's snow at 4.00 pm. Looks pretty but I'll be glad to see the back of it. Definitely not gardening weather.

We escaped any significant fall of snow yesterday, it just snowed lightly all day. At 20:00 it had stopped snowing and the cloud was beginning to break. First thing this morning we have a clear sky, it is dry, calm and very cold. The glass is rising and is on 1021mb. The forecast is for a colder, dryer and brighter day, could be sunny spells later. The SW wind is light rising to moderate later. It gives a high of 1C and a low of 0C with a -4C chill later as it strengthens. We can expect temperatures of -6C before dawn. Warmer tomorrow, no frost and heavy rain on Monday through into Tuesday.
05:10. I've had a very short walk to the top of the street, we have a hard frost and the sky is clouding over but no snow. Very slippy underfoot and I'm so glad I haven't got to walk a dog. Be very careful out there!

Yesterday we had a bright cold day and at 20:00 we had very light rain just damping the flags. Same this morning, no frost, cloudy and damp, the change in the weather has come early. Good job I grabbed the dry weather yesterday to do my yard work on the engine base. The glass is hardly different than yesterday, 1021mb. The wind is a moderate WSW giving a high of 6C and a low of 4C with a wind chill of -4C. The outlook is for similar weather, warmer and possibly quite wet tomorrow.
05:15. Back from my usual early morning walk. We have a light breeze, it's cloudy and damp and there is no frost. There are still some patches of ice but they are thawing. Apart from some of the Xmas trees on buildings, the Xmas lights have been switched off.
All is quiet just one young person running up Fernlea Avenue and shouting... God knows what that was about.

Currently, nearing 5pm, we have 32 C. Quite comfortable with all doors open and ceiling fans on rather than air conditioning.
( trying to live simply)
Might need a cool shower before bed...

Yesterday was dull and damp but had the great merit it was a slow thaw all day. At 20:00 it was windy and damp, 100% overcast. Same first thing this morning and almost dry. I've just come back from my early walk and we now have very light cold rain driven by a brisk breeze but no frost. The glass is down with a bump to 1010mb. The forecast is for it to be overcast all day and serious rain will arrive by 09:00 and persist all day. The constant brisk WSW wind will gust to 40mph at times and give a high of 7C and a low of 0C with a wind chill of -5C most of the day. Expect a brighter colder day tomorrow and a clod day after that with possible snow then we seem to go back into weather like today. One thing seems certain, we are not threatened by snow in any quantity. Wendy will be pleased.
06:30. I think the rain is starting early......

Did it ever get properly light yesterday? At 20:00 we still had wind and mizzle. First thing this morning it was the same and apart from the wind dropping hasn't changed yet, still drizzling. The glass is down on 1005mb. The forecast is for it to start clearing now and by the time it's light to be clear and full sun all day. The mainly light WNW wind gives a high of 2C and a low of -3C with a -3C wind chill. so it looks like bright dry and cold. The outlook is for a couple of days of rain, snow and ice then warming a bit but getting no brighter. Enjoy!
05:15. Back from my short morning walk. There's a light breeze, it's still overcast and we still have very light mizzle. Hopefully things will clear up shortly....

By the time I went to the Co-op at 07:00 the sky was totally clear and we had a sharp little frost immediately! Lovely fern patterns on car roofs.
