I shall be in the shed for an hour as usual for my therapeutic hand work. After second sleep I shall go to Town Square and do my heavy veggie shopping. Things that will keep until needed and lighten the final shopping load.... Reason being I am sure it will be a fine morning if cold....

This morning I checked the crosshead slide for freedom and adjusted the guides. The flywheel and crankshaft are perfectly free, a big improvement. I then switched attention to the cylinder. I fitted all the studs, bedded in Loctite after checking all the threads and the nuts, re-tapping where necessary. The cylinder is now ready for fitting to the bed. That took an hour of close work but well worth it. Now for breakfast.

Morning

A good 8.5 hours sleep last night , I needed it. My thick head is making me feel very tired. Slowly, very slowly, my cold is clearing up. Hopefully a day in the garden today will help . It’s going to be a nice day, fairly dry and an opportunity to carry on with the garden clearing. Its been on hold with the rain this week and my cold. So its Bacup market first thing then gardening.

I think you're right about the weather and yes, it should be a good day for your cold but don't forget to wrap up! Take care of yourself and remember that you should feed a cold! (Time for a treat?)

I've got the weight of my veggie shopping done and I am home and sat down with it all unpacked. Nice to sit down!

I shall have my usual hour in the shed and I shall make up my mind about later today when I set out my three meals. That will enable me to decide which day is cooking and when I have yo go to the Co-op for the few remaining light veggie items I need.
One thing I noticed last week but forgot to mention is that the first harbinger of Xmas is with us, the sprout harvest has started and they are in the better greengrocer's shops.....

This morning I mounted the cylinder on the target end,I installed the paper gasket as I fitted the front cover. Then I fitted the piston and rod adjusting the crosshead by milling the base until I had a fit. I have mounted the piston rod gland and finished up by installing the back lid. I am ready now to make and fit the connecting rod. That was a productive hour and now I'm ready for breakfast!

Morning

Its a pleasant morning and promises to be a dry day until the evening. I did a few hours gardening yesterday and filled the brown bin to overflowing. Any further major progress will have to be after bin collection on Thursday although I can cut some things back that can go in our own compost bin. We have already had the little irish man call, who sells us manure, and spreads it but the garden is not clear enough for it yet. We have his phone number for a future delivery. I wish he would deliver to France .

Today is a typical Sunday, Bob will clean the kitchen after our cooked breakfast before he goes off to the park whilst I do the ironing and other minor domestic chores. This afternoonI will do some sewing and an hours french before I prepare our roast dinner. Its chicken this week. Have a good day all

We always have a cooked breakfast on Sunday and eat again about 7 when Bob comes back from the park and has counted the takings ready for banking on Tuesday. It goes back to the days when both girls swam and we had either galas or swimming lessons to fit in all day plus meals. The girls had a carb lunch we didn’t have one but they were swimming. In france, unable to get bacon and decent sausage we have croissants and scrambled egg . Sunday has also always been a tradition of a roast at night, plus the one pud of the week that we eat and GnT beforehand with some sort of ´amuse bouche’. Nice bottle of red and coffee with chocs and liqueur . It used to help us forget it was Mo day the next day, with Bob often working away all week and me teaching night classes a couple of nights a week and other evening work commitments. Su days were our treat to ourselves

I shall be in the shed at 06:00 for my usual hour of Occupational Therapy but before going in I shall put my chicken in the oven and deal with it after Second Sleep. Then, despite the rain, a quick trip to the Co-op to get a couple of the more perishable veggies that I didn't get in Town Square. I shall then be ready for veggie cooking on Tuesday. Amazing how quickly it comes round!
Later at 05:20. The chicken is in the oven starting on it's 4 hour roast!

This morning I started working on the crank pin bearing and after measuring and deciding on sizes I hit one or two problems. I got two cuts done and then damaged the cutting edges of my milling cutter so I ended the morning going back into the T&C grinder for the second time. But now I am focussed on breakfast.

Chicken dealt with. Roasting tin is soaking. Now I wait for a break in the weather to go to the Co-op....

It struck me that I could just as easily do my C-op shop early doors tomorrow so I had a look and the forecast says it will be dry..... That settles it, I shall stop mithering about shopping today. I will have a dad nap instead....

Afternoon

I was a bit rushed this morning as we were a bit behind in our timing and I had to leave early to get to Haslingden for French. It was not a nice drive over Owd Betts and even worse coming back.

We are off to a funeral this afternoon, the wife of one of Bobs engineers friends. Then at 5.15 pm I have zoom yoga. Hope my head copes, its really thick still and I am coughing for hours every morning and feel very tired all the time . I was in bed early again last night and slept nearly 9 hours. Its coming up to 4 weeks since I started with this . Its obviously sinusitis now but i can’t keep taking decongestants. I am doing steam inhalations every day too. If we hadn't tested for covid I would have said we had had it. However last time I had covid it was nowhere near as bad as this .

Ah well must go to the crematorium in a minute . Have a good afternoon all

What a lousy day for a funeral Sue. I hope it wasn't too awful.... That cold is hanging on isn't it. Giving advice doesn't help, you know what you have to do, treat the symptoms and be patient. I hope it slackens its grip soon.....
I shall be in the shed this morning before 06:00 and then out to do an early doors shop at the Co-op for what I need to complete my veggie shopping. After second sleep I shall be cooking! Deep Joy!

I have had a rethink about the day and decided I have quite enough on my plate without going in the shed. So I am declaring a shed holiday and will take it easy until I go to the Co-op.

Morning

Yes a lousy day for a funeral, we were literally paddling through deep puddles on all the paths at the crematorium. Neither of us really knew the person but Dave, the engineer friend had phoned and invited us specifically so Bob wanted to go. We didn’t know anybody else so didn’t stay long at the wake. We were back in plenty of time for zoom yoga which I managed quite well though my head was not keen on moving up and down a lot.

Today if it is dry enough we will walk into Rochdale to the bank and I have a jumper to return to M&S. then its a sewing afternoon followed by pilates and yoga at the studio with a couple of steam inhalations strategically slotted in . I can but keep trying to clear the sinuses

I am back from my shopping. It was a good idea as I was not in the rain. Now I shall have breakfast and go to bed for second sleep.

That's it. All cooking done, tea set out and 4 pans of veggies cooling on the draining board. Always a nice point in the week. I shall do bugger all now until bed time!
