Not a knob Cathy but you have got one aspect of it exactly right and it's an important point, it's well used. I'd add stained as well. Here's a big clue for you, it's made of ivory. (It's legal because it is antique....)

There's a deathly hush..... I'll kill it shortly if there are no offers. I did this pic in the 1980s in NY but the great time for these encampments was in the Depression days of the 1930s.
