Maz, you have reminded me of the day I heard Margaret telling her daughter not to give cheese to my dog when I visited as it ruined their sense of smell. I asked her who had told her that piece of nonsense and she said "You, when I gave some to Fly at Hey Farm!" Collapse of stout party.....
Got a well hung piece of rump steak on Friday morning. Marinaded it for a couple of hours then cooked it slowly on a bed of onions and tomato. Had two thirds of it on a butty for dinner. Lovely! Meat pie and a piece of Chorley cake for tea, fruit for pudding....

This is what was left of the steak and gravy. Waste not, want not! It's in a pan on the stove with a tin of baked beans dropped into it. This will make good gravy for meat pies!

By the time the shank was cooked down, de-boned, cut up and fortified with a can of chopped tomatoes and peas it cried out for veggies. Made a pan od spuds and carrots and had a bowl of these plus the meat sauce for dinner and tea, good stuff. Had the crust off the loaf with cheese when I got the munchies later.....

Made a Curried Chicken and Veg Soup. Smells divine...still about 90 mins out from dinner and I am wondering if I will do dumplings...or if that would be over the top.

Light shop at Brown's butchers Friday morning because Stewart was delivering a 'wrap up' when they closed for week's holiday last night. So pie and peas for dinner and the same for tea. Wrap up arrived, all sorts of goodies. It included a large custard so that went down as pudding! Freezer is well stocked including Jack's mince for next week. We will not starve in the next fortnight!

Grilled more sausages and had them with the remainder of the veggies for dinner. Kath gave me some Jersey cream in my wrap-up so I got some Bramley Apples and ready made pastry and baked two apple pies. So apple pie and cream for pudding with dinner and just apple pie and cream for tea.

The remainder of the gravy from the steak used as a base for a chopped pork casserole. Spuds and carrots boiled up and so we had veggies and casserole for dinner and tea.
